Friendly Canadian hospitality and economical rates near the city center
Find comfortable rooms and a friendly staff for a very economical rate at the Travelodge Hotel Calgary Macleod Trail. Some of the nice features include an indoor pool and whirlpool, on-site fitness center and ample parking. A free Bear Bites breakfast and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access make the deal even sweeter. There is plenty to do from here. Start with a trip to nearby Southcentre Mall or LaserTrek, both within a couple miles of the hotel. Or venture out further with a trip to the Calgary Zoo or McMahon Stadium, each about 10 miles away.Recommendations for you

Location: easy access to shops,
Location: easy access to shops, services and restaurants. We got 10% discount at the Rice for King Vietnamese restaurant. At the 1st floor of the hotel, there is the Comedy Cave, which was free to hotel guest. We got a terrific price for the 3 of us, which included an excellent buffet breakfast. The staff was very friendly and prompt to help with any questions; they were concerned that we got the best comfort by setting us in the recently remodeled rooms.

What a disaster this hotel is very bad
We arrive and were told we had three rooms...we only booked one..desk said we would have to fix made no attempt to help at all. After hours on the phone still waiting for credits for one room...Very Bad customer service...Pool was ice cold and hot tub not working not told about when we checked in...said there was a sign 8 1/2 x 11 at desk on back wall which you could not read...Will not recommend this one not matter what the price....Management very uncooperative...would not help. I had this situation before at a Comfort Inn and they fixed it for me with no problems at all.

Average with opportunity to be better
The welcome was average, the rooms are very basic, even for Travelodge. Smoking rooms on a non-smoking floor is ok if it's 1982. The location is fine, especially with restaurants around (Starbucks is next door).

unprofessional bussiness
i booked vacation package for three days hotel. i arrived at calgary canada on oct1 23:45 and checked in the hotel oct2(friday)morning and checked out on oct 4( sunday)at 10 30am, i stayed in the hotel 2 days and was charged 3 days. Call the manager and he said" they extended my stay in hotel oct 5 and i checked out oct 5"which is unprofessional lie since i returned california on oct4. That is very unprofessional and fraud in bussiness. besides that problem, i really enjoyed the hotel, clean, cozy and close to Calgary train( 10 mins away). Thank You, I gave this hotel 2 stars because i am not completely with customer service and management of the hotel. hope it will improve in the future.

The hotel was ok. The room was kind of small and it was pretty warm even with the a/c on. Location was not to bad it was only a 10 minute walk from the train.

Friendly Staff
The Travelodge Hotel in Calgary has a tremendous group of staff, they were extremely friendly and very helpful. They answered all my questions with the best of their knowledge and were persistent in finding a way to make me feel comfortable and made sure I had everything I needed.

Short drive from hotel
Connected to the hotel was a comedy club where they also served breakfast. On both sides of the hotel there was dinning and pubs. Down the street was the mall.
