A lucky find!
The "title" I wanted to give (too many letters) was: A Lucky Find! I'll recommend and return! This was just supposed to be a convenient pre-flight hotel after a camping trip. It wasn't chosen because it was the closest to the airport -- its in the southeast quadrant of the city, below city center, but the easy access to north-south Highway 2 made it easy to get there. The room was pleasnt and well appointed. Nice granite in the bath and powder area. Big window with city view. Not a lot of the dark, heavy, clashing patterns one usually sees in hotels. Room, halls, etc. all clean and cleaning staff pleasant and professional without seeming so mistreated as one often sees in hotels. Good choices of places to eat -- we ate in the Lounge, looking at the spruces covered with tiny lights, and served by an extremely personable, competent woman who seemed to enjoy her job and working with the public. Well prepared food with good presentation. The manager was exceptionally helpful, coming to our table to be sure everything was okay. There had been a minor misunderstanding about the pricing of similar menu items in various dining areas and he provided both drinks and dessert (try the orange tart!) on the house to more than compensate. It was easy (and free) to use a computer to print out a boarding pass. The Sunday check out is at 12, giving an extra hour. Using Orbitz, the price was a bargain, by resort gateway or big city standards. Only minor caveat was that breakfast was a bit slow, but we were there at a busy time. And it was very good.

Fine Place off the beaten path
The Blackfoot Inn is a fine hotel. The rooms are nice and clean; the pool is great; service is great. Restaurants are good. Even has a comedy club and a couple bars. It is not anywhere near anything else to speak of. There is a mall down the highway. But the hotel is in a somewhat post-industrial area with a lot of self-storage areas and a trucking business. If you don't mind that, it's a great place to stay.
