good after all
i went to visit a friend who lives in Calgary, the hotel location is perfect, i didn't like the fitness club , it's so gloomy and the spa is small. the beds are very comfortable! my room was small and didn't have a good view. the view was ugly. the service is good. food is good. in many previous i have taken the hotel was more of what i expect . but this one wasn't as i expected. i very much loved the fairmount at Banff. that one was amazing and i wish i stayed there. i love big hotels and if so resorts. very elegant with space and bright rooms.

Great hotel - would go back again
I've stayed at a couple of hotels in Calgary - Hyatt, Westin and now the Fairmont. I would say the service ranks high up there along with the Hyatt staff...friendly & responds in a timely manner if you have any requests. I got a suite at the Fairmont and it was a nice sized room with a shower stall and a separate jacuzzi. One thing great about the Fairmont is that even though you book the room through a third party discount site like [...], your stay still counts towards their loyalty program which is free to sign up for. Sign up for Fairmont's loyalty program for free and you get free local calls and free internet ;) That's much better than the Westin Calgary for example because the Westin will not count any points for their loyalty program if you book the room through a third party website and also, you have to pay for local calls and internet at the Westin. I would say the only thing I didn't really like about this hotel was that the fitness centre was lacking (only three treadmills and the room needed some air conditioning for sure).

Historic in Calgary
The Fairmont Palliser is simply stunning. This is the third hotel I've tried during my monthly trip to Calgary. I won't stay anywhere else now. The lobby is gorgeous, the rooms while a bit small were quaint and charming. The workout room was just fine with 3 treadmills, 3 ellipticals, a selection of free weights and other workout essentials. The room service menu offered a nice variety of items. My room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. There is a Starbucks within a 2 block walk along with a coffee maker in the room. Wish they didn't charge for wifi in the room however.

A good night's Sleep
Even though the hotel was very busy it was really quiet in our room. You have to pay for parking separately-pricey because you are downtown.

A single nite weekend stay meant a saturday night on the town--downtown and close to everything-- and a great morning with a dip in a great pool/sauna/hot tub. The sunday buffet was very good @ $26. Class act hotel. Class act city.
