Juniper October

The room was a bit chilly. At reception it was not possible to upgrade a room. The hotel has a very nice position. View especially from Bistro is great. Breakfast in Bistro was good too.

Summer in Bannf

Great stay at the Juniper in Aug 2014. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel sits on the outskirts of Banff which we liked as Banff was much more crowded than we expected and being out of town a few minutes was perfect. Easy access to highway and all Banff sites. We stayed on the parking lot / entrance side of hotel with no adverse comments. Though hotel is up above the highway, we wondered if there was constant highway noise on the "view" side of the hotel. Downside: there is no elevator - could be a problem to some travellers - and breakfast was pricey. Upside: fridge in room, hot tub, close drive to everything. We would stay here again if we were to return to Banff

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Worth driving to Canmore (20 minutes) to shop, eat, enjoy town life, etc. if Banff seems too crowded or you'd like some others options with a greater price range.

Great Location and Staff

I was a bit disappointed in the Juniper Hotel when I first stepped into our room. The room was not terribly big and an old tube TV was hidden inside the dresser. There was no iron and limited closet space. Staying in Banff can be quite expensive, so the Juniper Hotel seemed like a fair option. My wife and I wanted a comfortable, somewhat luxurious hotel after backpacking in Yoho for a few days. Over the course of a few days, though, the Juniper Hotel really showed us its true benefits. First, the location is excellent. Right off TC-1, it is both in close proximity to the many wonders of the national park and the town of Banff itself. Parking is free and you can avoid the summer crowds which overflow into Banff town, near the numerous resorts and inns of the town itself. The staff was also very accommodating and helpful. The room did not come with a microwave, but a front desk agent was willing to warm up our food by using a microwave in a meeting room. Another front desk agent recommended to travel on the alternate Bow Parkway for some added scenery and a chance to see some wildlife. Thanks to him, we were able to spot and photograph a black bear right on the road! The Juniper Hotel is not chock full of amenities, but it's a great place to unwind after a day of hiking and touring the mountains.

Beautiful Lodge Near Banff

I was first worried about location, but the Inn is beautiful and the view is outstanding. The Bistro was more than we expected--great food and service. Staff was more than helpful and we negotiated an upgrade which was well worth the cost. The history of the Inn and the area are told and shown throughout the Inn almost like a mini-museum! The Inn is a great stay and helped make our visit to Banff memorable.

A great hotel overlooking Banff

The room had a great view overlooking the city and a great mountain view. Breakfast was fantastic! The room was just a bit small but very nice comfortable beds. A nice clean hotel. The room had a huge picture window and door to a patio where there were chairs to sit and enjoy the views. Hot tub was just around the corner of our room.

Best deal of my vacation!

The view from our large room with a picture window was breath-taking! A gourmet breakfast selected from a menu was included in the package. The hotel was uniquely decorated with wood and slate. A short drive to surrounding sights in Banff. Cant believe we got all this value for the low dollars we paid!
