Situated close to the Canadian Rockies in the Town of Banff, many guests come for the hiking along Parker Ridge Trail or for boating at Lake Minnewanka. Visit Bow Falls and dont miss out on Surprise Corner. From gentle, sloping trails to ones fit for avid hikers, theres something for everyone. Theres also world class golfing nearby at Fairmount Banff Springs. Perhaps world class skiing is what youre after, in which case a trip to Sunshine Village might be in order. Theres also Mount Norquay and Lake Louise near this Banff hotel. Day trips to local attractions like Tunnel Mountain Drive are a great way to see the Rockies and explore the region. Glacier Skywalk is fun for the whole family, while a tour of the Columbia Ice Field cant be missed. How about a Grotto Canyon Ice Walk or horseback riding in the Rockies? A shot of romance can be injected into any trip with a helicopter ride or a horse-drawn carriage through the historic district. White water rafting on Kicking Horse River brings water adventurers to the region or you can watch the sun rise on a balloon tour. Business travelers to Calgary and Edmonton regularly stay at this Banff hotel to enjoy peace and quiet since Banff is primarily a tourist destination. The city caters to many convention businesses on day tours from nearby cities in Alberta, and is known for world class shopping. Home to Canadas first National Park and Canadas highest town at 4,540 feet above sea level, theres always something exciting happening like the Banff Film & Book Festival or Ice Magic Festival.

Banff experience

My wife and I recently celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary here, and it was great. Rooms were very nice. Only setback for us was that the continental breakfast doesn't really waiver. If staying several days, expect frozen pancakes or waffles everyday. Overall though, a great experience.

Banff avenue shops are within walking distance. Parking a car is more of a hassle than simply walking the half mile it takes to get "downtown."

Had a very nice 4-night stay

A clean and nice hotel; there were no problems at all. Easy 3-4 block walk to downtown and to a big supermarket. There was even a scattering of restaurants within half a block. And a gas station/convenience store directly across the street. The included breakfast was above average for what you get in this type of hotel. I couldn't go in the pool at all because it was freezing! But a bunch of kids seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Half a block away is a backpacker's hostel, that has a funky bar that serves surprisingly good food.

Good hotel

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I had read the reviews first and knew that it would not be perfect. Well, I found clean rooms with updated restrooms. It was comfortable. The pool is a little cold and right in the entrance. The jacuzzi is nice and hot. The breakfast is what one would expect. For the price, I was really happy.

Great Place for budget Banff travel.

Spent a weekend in October there while in the area for business. Nice place, good breakfast, friendly staff. Would stay again. close distances to good places to eat and / "downtown" Banff. Just an amazing area all around. ride the gondola, and see the observatory for sure. I had my own 4x4 vehicle so I accessed some more remote areas and was amazed by the wildlife and scenery.... If your looking for a decent drive take the yellowhead to HWY11, and head to Red Deer... the wild lands ae spell binding!

Nice, clean, quiet, and cheap

The title says it all ... Nice, clean, quiet, and cheap. I was here with friends for a ski trip and we needed a cheap place to stay but comfortable enough to relax us after a night out. The bathroom was nice and clean, the room was huge, and the beds were comfy. The underground parking wasn't that great, kind of crowded and hard to park with a bigger rig, I wouldn't recommend a large SUV.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The Rose & Crown Restaurant & Pub is a short walk down the road. They had good pub food and good East Coast music followed by good sized pitchers of draft.
