The hotel's staffed health club includes a heated pool, sauna, fitness equipment, hair salon, spa services, and a poolside snack bar (surcharges may apply). Concierge service, available 24 hours, takes care of mail and packages and arranges limousine service (surcharges). The hotel provides complimentary technical concierge service to support guests with technical questions or help with computer difficulties.
More than 200 International newspapers are offered, and guests may order their preferred newspaper for the same-day edition delivery (surcharge may apply). IMPORTANT: Children under 18 years old are required to present identification at check-in and must be accompanied by both parents, guardians, or have permission of the Juvenile Court, in case of travelling with others. In case one of the parents is not traveling with them, they must show his/her parent permission to travel with the person accompanying them.

A Definite NOT-Good Hotel
I had stayed at the Maksoud several years ago and had a great stay. This time however not the same. The entire hotel needs a refurbishing inside and out. The bathroom was a horror, the ceiling panel was out of place and I could see in-between the floors is just one example. Everything cost extra including internet access which surprised since generally it is free access. I was there for Christmas and the lobby was decorated so tacky it was unbelievable that a major hotel would decorate it's lobby like that. Shame on you Maksoud. This is an aging Grand Dame of a Hotel that is living off past greatness. It is a real shame that the hotel was allowed to go down hill like this. I would not stay there again.

OK, but no longer what it used to be.
Restaurants are no longer comparable to those of good hotels in Sao Paulo.

Maksoud taking advantage
1- Due to my itinerary I was charged an early arrival rate for half a day, which is ok, but guess what..they based this charge on the highest hotel rate there is, [...].2- There were people at 6:00am trying to open my door due to system error on their key cards.3- The bathroom has no exaust fan working so it is impossible to have a hot bath unless you do not mind the foggy room.4- In my long time experience as traveler I end up paying the highest breakfast buffet price: US30 per person which should have much more for the money.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. Service is exceptional, rooms are large & very clean, hotel decor is outdated, lobby & atrium are very dark.
