The staff was very nice & professional. The building is old not updated the rooms are old the bathroom curtain had mold. Housekeeping of the room was very nice the sheets & towels were very clean & she did a great job but the room is old. Breakfast was very nice but lunch was not good at the hotel.

Small and noisy room
The hotel is very bare, not worth what they charge. The location is perfect but you will probably not have a beach view room. My room window was facing a space between the hotel and the next building, with a big air conditioning machine that was very loud. It felt like I was inside an airplane because of the noise. I asked the reception to change my room and they said that they were completely booked, which I think was a lie.

Couple of changes, and this could be a sweet deal
It was my first time at Olinda Othon, and it is in a good location - right on Copacabana beach - convenient short walk to restaurants, and short taxi ride to business district. Room is decent, staff is courteous, and breakfast is slightly better than typical. From a business perspective, if hotels such as this one add two things to their rooms: coffee, and iron (with ironing board). Both are cheap items, but have a significant effect on the quality of stay.

ordinary and over priced..welcome to rio
business visit to rio and this was a last minute booking. $200 after a discount but not much to this hotel. room was decently sized but really didnt have much going for it. no flat screen tv, small shower cubicle, no view whatsover, hallway light came through the door, bfast was ordinary and the decor outdated. the good was the staff..helpful and polite..right from the doorman to the waiters to the front desk.

Great location but tiny standard room. The next time, I will opt for a deluxe room. The service, location, and free breakfast were all excellent, though.

FLYING DOWN TO RIO
Fabulous hotel for the price.
This is my 4th trip to Rio and I have stayed at quite a few hotels. This hotel was great! The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly, and the view of the beach from our room was fantastic. The hotel was clean with beautiful decor. The breakfast was good, but not as good as other hotels I have stayed in (not up to Ipanema standards.) The only thing missing was valet parking. This hotel is very safe and I would highly recommend staying there. I will stay there again the next time I am in Brazil.

Copacabana
Check-In: My husband and I went to Rio for business. We were there for 3 days and 2 nights. We chose Olinda Othon Classic Hotel, becouse of the area and we had saw good reviews about the hotel. When we arrived there around 12:00 pm, we had to wait for their check in time ( 15:00 ). So, we went out to have lunch and when we came back, they took us to our room which had a maintenance issuee. The bell man man contacted the front desk and they moved our room to another floor. The room had two single beds and the air conditioner wasn't turned on. The bell man had to flip the circut breaker in a maintenance are to fix it. When we departed the room for the day a housekeeper pushed the beds together and resheeted it with a king sheet. Stay: The stay was pleasant, if your room wasn't oceanside you have NO view. The breakfast was adequate but nothing fancy. They hotel has recenty been upfitted so all of the furniture and lobby area was nicely decorated. The staff was helpful and a few of them spoke english. We needed to ask for the room to be cleaned the next day as it was 12pm and had not yet been attended too (We had been out since 6am that morning so they had plenty of time). All in all the hotel was good but if you do not care about the view I would recommend a hotel a block or 2 from the beach.

Great hotel, shame about Rio
The hotel was very good and worth paying for a better room. It's well positioned with shopping, banks, the metro (if you dare) and good restaurants very near. Shame Rio wasnt as good an experience
