The golden tulip
Hotel was nice. You can tell it was a really nice hotel 20 years ago and is being remodeled. Overall staff was nice and very helpful. They recommended a really good place for dinner. The pool and gym area was better than expected. Good value for the price, but it's not near the falls. Cab ride to the the airport or falls is around 45 Reals. I think they have a roof top restaurant but we did not eat there. Overall was happy with my stay

Foz is Good
This was a good hotel with a good location at the center of the city, but quiet. The shower was great with lots of high pressure water. The breakfast was the usual for Brazil, good, but nothing special Hotel needs a little maintenance but Golden Tulip is working on it. The internet was almost $20 per day. They said they were going to change, but add that to your daily rate. I would not rate as a 4 star, but I have been to many hotels that are. I would rate the Hotel das Cataratas as a 4.5 star and the Rafain, where the convention was, as the same as this a 3 star. I suspect the other hotels are rated a little high.

Short walk from hotel
The restaurant at the top of hotel had a great view, but average food. There were many other restaurants around including a "por Kilo" restaurant next door that was inexpensive and good, but simple. Zaragosa restaurant 4 blocks away was very good.
