Pampered Nature Trip

The staff are amazing and very accommodating. The place feels like the old hotel experience from the 20's. The breakfast buffet in the morning is incredible and includes a table of fresh fruit, a variety of cereals, a number of hot dishes, several juices and mimosas, plus an omelet bar. You can also special request eggs any way you would like them to make. There is a lot to do: Pool, tennis, spa, hiking, bird sanctuary, boating up the falls, and a lot of other options. It is a very relaxing pampered setting. It is in the middle of a park so there is not a lot around that does not deal with park activity.

Luxury in the Jungle

What a wonderful hotel! I had an overnight call on a cruise ship and chose to fly independently to Iguacu Falls and spend the night at the das Cataras. This is the only hotel within the national park and steps from the falls. The rooms are very comfortable. Toiletries are locally sourced and generously sized. Basic wi-fi is free, but guests can upgrade for a faster service. (I found the basic service fine.)The multi-lingual staff is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. An on-site travel agent can arrange car transfers to the hotel, tours to the Argenine and Paraguayan sites, and guided trips by helicopter, boat and trail. A one-way transfer to/from the airport costs R$90. There are two restaurants, a prix fixe where breakfast and lunch are also served, and a table d'hote where only dinner is served. There are indoor and outdoor bars that serve food, as well. The hotel provides a free clothes drying service for visitors to the falls and provides flip-flops for guests.

Perfect location for the Falls Experience!

We visited both sides of the falls and the Brazil-side offers more experiences. Nothing is better though than staying right across the street from an exceptional fall. Don't be deceived though, yes, you can visit in the park but there are no lights so you can't visit in the darkness or you'll fall off a cliff. We did take advantage of the extra hour in the morning and in the evening to enjoy things. Hotel is VERY expensive and I wonder if they gave us a smaller room because we booked through this site?? I would have liked a garden wing room...try to get that. Don't stay outside of the park and expect to have as fabulous an experience.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Breakfast is included but the other meals are expensive. You are captive there at the hotel as nothing is closeby. Suggest you eat in the bar and share meals or dine alongside of the pool before 8 pm to manage costs. Spring for a dinner at least once though. Excellent food.

Fabulous Falls

If you do not have long at Iguazu this is the place to stay. We took a lovely early morning walk to view the falls with nobody around. Beautiful pool with attentive staff. Superb hotel.

Absolutely perfect location

We splashed out a lot more money for this hotel than we have been paying for the other hotels during our holiday in Brazil and Argentina, but it was definitely worth it. The location is excellent. We were able to explore the viewing areas from 0730 to 0900 by ourselves, before the crowds were allowed into the park. Some wonderful photos. And, the food and rooms etc were all pretty good too! The only negative point is that on arrival at the gates to the hotel we had to wait 30 minutes for the hotel bus to collect us. Overall, from the time of arrival at the gate to us getting into our room was over an hour. This was very disappointing service.

Not just a hotel, it's an experience.

From the moment you get to the park gate, the experience begins. The rooms are beautiful. The buffet breakfast is fantastic. The pool is gorgeous. The view from the front of the hotel to the falls is unreal. We only spent one night, but two would be worth the cost!

Have the falls to yourself

Very luxurious hotel with an amazing breakfast buffet. Wonderful access to Brazillian side of the falls with no tourists around early in the morning. Lovely pool although the constant helicopters overhead doing flights over the falls are a real irritant and hardly environmentally friendly or in keeping with the national parks ecological status. It's a shame we humans always seem to take tourism a step too far!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The lunch restaurant a short walk from the hotel on the Brazil side offered a good value lunch alternative. Albeit lunch around the pool at the hotel was superb if not pricey.
