The only hotel located within the Iguassu National Park, Belmond Hotel das Cataratas enjoy an unrivalled location just a short stroll from the sensational waterfalls. Guests enjoy exclusive access to this magnificent sight in the evening and at dawn, when the park is closed to other visitors. A Portuguese-colonial residence, this classic hotel is redolent with the atmosphere of lazy days lounging on a veranda or beneath sub-tropical palms.

This natural paradise also offers thrills and excitement in abundance: white water rafting, helicopter trips over the gorge and jungle treks to view amazing wildlife including colourful toucans and giant butterflies. Set in the heart of the Iguassu National Park, Belmond Hotel das Cataratas offers a wide variety of leisure activities, from abseiling and water rafting to sipping cocktails by the pool. The hotel offer a range of activities, so if you fancy taking a helicopter tour across the falls, a guided tour through the park by the light of the moon, rafting in some of the most beautiful and demanding rapids or just taking a stroll through the park, simply mention it to the concierge. Additional Charges: R$ 6,25 tourism tax.

IMPORTANT: According to ICMBio - Instituto Chico Mendes is not allowed the enter and stay overnight private car in the park.. In order to preserve the eco system of Brazil's Iguassu National Park, the only vehicles allowed to enter the park are buses from the Visitor's Center and those provided by the hotel. Private vehicles should be left ouside the gates of the park. Transfers from the hotel to the park are provided every 20 minutes.

/National Park Entrance fee: Brazilians R$28,80 - Mercosul R$38,80 - Other nationalities R$48,80. This fee is not included in the daily rate and is subject to change with no previous notice.

Can't beat it!

Not only is it the only hotel within the National Park at Iguacu, but the service is second to none at the Belmond. Discreet, exemplary service from all the staff - we cannot fault them. Friendly, helpful and good fun, the building and facilities are superb, but it's the staff who make it. We had a great view of the waterfall from our bedroom - one of only 11 rooms in the hotel that has that added benefit. Perfect 2 night stop on our honeymoon visit to Brazil. Would recommend to anyone.

Perfect ending to a 2 week visit to South America

First Class customer service, nothing was too much trouble and the housekeeping staff went over and above to give excellent service. The benefit of being in the park before and after the day visitors have gone more than justifies the cost of the stay here. Try the Devil's Throat cocktail - one to remember.

Stunning Hotel Adorable Staff

This is a one-off. In the Brazilian rainforest in the heart of the Iguassu Falls National Park. The staff and hotel are more than a match for the world class location. We could have stayed longer.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Get up early and enjoy the falls before the national park opens to the public. Better still, book on a night with a full moon and go and see moon rainbows made by the falls in moonlight!

Luxury

Stayed here with my fiancé. Seasoned travelers and this is one of the nicest, most luxurious hotels we have ever stayed in. Staff, food, location, comfort were all top notch. Unbeatable. Well worth the money spent.

An experience not to be missed

We chose this hotel as we wanted to be in the vicinity of the Iguazu Falls. We could walk to the Falls from the hotel anytime. Hotel provides free drying of clothes if you get wet. Delicious breakfast buffet and do try the fine dining with a view of the falls. Attentive service from bell hop, room, concierge, dining, pool at the hotel.

Pampered Nature Trip

The staff are amazing and very accommodating. The place feels like the old hotel experience from the 20's. The breakfast buffet in the morning is incredible and includes a table of fresh fruit, a variety of cereals, a number of hot dishes, several juices and mimosas, plus an omelet bar. You can also special request eggs any way you would like them to make. There is a lot to do: Pool, tennis, spa, hiking, bird sanctuary, boating up the falls, and a lot of other options. It is a very relaxing pampered setting. It is in the middle of a park so there is not a lot around that does not deal with park activity.
