Hotel Californians
They charge R$35 for 24 hours of wifi access!
The hotel is kind of fine. They're upgrading from old apartment style rooms to proper hotel rooms, so at least they're making an effort there. Nothing you can do about the hotel zones, so no matter where you stay it's going to be a R$20 taxi ride from anywhere. The pool is rather pleasant on a hot day. But all of the good was overshadowed by the fact that they cling to the exorbitant R$35 fee for 24 hours of wifi. Which, if you decline to pay, leaves you with achingly slow ethernet access (assuming you're lugging a laptop, and out of luck if you're just on a smartphone). A friend at the Comfort Suites had a beautiful room with wifi included. Plus it's closer to the mall (Brasilia Shopping), which has free wifi.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
We read only bad reviews about breakfast at the Mercure, so we went to Brasilia Shopping every morning. It's a 10-minute walk. Marietta has really good juices and açaí. And for dinner, Coco Bambu is the place. Free wifi too.

Trip to Brasilia
When I arrived at hotel there was not any reservation in my name.Hotel was overbooked and no rooms were available.I have not received any confirmation e-mail from [...], therefore I though that was my mistake. Since you sent me a survey, looks like you received my reservation. Please, don't charge me twice!
