Cocoon hotel philosophy relay on the joint between minimalism and future and the culture of the marvelous Bahia. The futuristic materials merge with the tradition and the culture creating a fusion that found a perfect balance between architecture and nature, modern and ethnicity, in between future and tradition.
Cocoon hotel resemble a space ship landed on a bamboo forest whose elements have perfectly integrate with the forest and the environment. A spacious bright and white veranda is hold up by the bamboo walls of the rooms at the first floor give access to those on the second floor. Cocoon hotel will allow you to discover a new dimension and a new way to live the hotel.
IMPORTANT: Children under 18 years old are required to present identification at check-in and must be accompanied by both parents, guardians, or have permission of the Juvenile Court, in case of travelling with others. In case one of the parents is not traveling with them, they must show his/her parent permission to travel with the person accompanying them.

I needed a place to stay near the airport as my flight plans were changed. [...] states that there is a free airport shuttle. This is not the case. In fact I had to pay for a cab there and back which cost me approx. $30 or R50 each way. Second, they list the hotel as .2 miles from the airport. It's actually 8 Km or about 5 miles, which is why it cost so much. Those are a fault with [...]website, not the hotel as I checked the Cocoon website after the fact and they don't list a free shuttle and also give the accurate distance to the airport.Now for the hotel itself. Modest and seemed clean. The young lady at reception was very nice (her 3rd day on the job) and spoke English which was helpful to me. though I feel the burden of understanding the native language is on the traveler, not the locals so any English speaking was icing for me. Room service was difficult because I didn't speak the language but again, that's on me. Don't expect to order directly from the bar if you can't communicate, though reception may be able to help you in that case. The food was delicious, comes with free breakfast which wasn't bad. The pool was nice and clean. Staff is friendly, though hard to communicate if you don't speak Portuguese (again, they don't advertise English speaking and so that's not the hotels fault. Be happy with what you get there. Very laid back overall. The beach is about a 5 minute walk though there isn't much else around that wouldn't require a cab ride... but this place is fine for an overnight or two as it's reasonably priced. It looks more like a Motel with a space theme. The reason I only give it two stars is that I was bitten by bed bugs. My feet, legs got the worst of it. I realize this can be a problem at any hotel/motel but it is the one major thing that will keep me from returning to one. It's my major hotel no no. I'm sure management will rectify this as bedbugs can be difficult to get rid of but no hotel wants that reputation. I'm still itching like crazy the next day so I'm not so forgiving right now...LOL. For that reason, I can't recommend it because, well... bedbugs.
