Great trip and hotel

The hotel staff was great, from the doormen and desk staff to the managers we interacted with. The only issue we had was with Aliianz trip insurance. One of our party of 4 could not make the trip due to a hospitalized child. 3 months later we are still trying to get the partial room rate paid, they did pay the airfare within a month and a half. Not sure I would ever use them again for travel insurance, although I have been using them for 15 or more years and never had to use it. I've had them on the phone with the hotel mgmt and they got all the info they needed to confirm the room was not used by one of our party and they are still asking me to get confirmation from the hotel again. Not good.

Just what we were looking for to relax and enjoy the holiday

The Fairmont Southampton is a beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. We enjoyed the week around Thanksgiving. The weather was somewhat cooler, but it was beautiful and the island was mellow. The food at the Fairmont is excellent and pricy; food is pretty expensive throughout the island. At night you need to eat on the hotel premises (several great options) or you need to take a cab to another nearby restaurant (not too many on that end of the island) - the roads do not allow for night strolls between the hotel and restaurants. It looks like the best hotel/resort option on the island.

A Bermudaful Place

3 nights at the Fairmont Southampton. Always neat, clean, well kept up, excellent staff always looking to assist in any ways. Concierge staff is excellent. You would never know a hurricane went through here just less than 2 weeks ago. Grounds are impeccable.

Fabulous anniversary trip!

The setting of the fairmont southhampton was spectacular in every way. The views were gorgeous, the grounds impeccable and the beach was so gorgeous it looked fake! Of course it didn't hurt that we had perfect weather during out five day stay. The fairmont Southampton is a great hotel. The staff was so accomodating. Our room was luxurious as we're the amenities. Loved the gym. The restaurants were great as well. We even loved where the hotel was located on the island. Can't wait to go back next year!

Super Comfortable

Got 50% off for prepaying so the value for the rate was great! This hotel is SUPER large, like a cruise ship and located on a golf course. The staff is very helpful and quick to please. Lots of amenities so you go wanting for nothing. The beautiful private beach is a 5 minute (free) van ride down the hill and vans are constantly running. A bit far from Hamilton so if you want to spend time in Hamilton expect to pay for taxis (which aren't cheap!). The hotel has a free ferry that runs between the Fairmont in Southampton and the one in Hamilton but it stops running very early (last one leaves Southampton at 545 and leaves Hamilton at 630) which isn't that helpful if you want to do dinner in Hamilton. The rooms were very very large, clean and well appointed. I really couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel for the rate.

A beautiful place with a wonderful staff -- a few vegan meal options would make it even better

This was our third stay here, and our first during the busy season. I would recommend asking for a room facing south, which is a bit pricier but avoids the noise of the physical plant and deliveries on the north side of the building. This resort is best for people who are looking to swim and sit on the beach, which is what we like. If you go in the summer, there are a LOT of kids and it is pretty noisy. You may have trouble with dining if you have dietary restrictions or food allergies. We have both, and as a result we are accustomed to bringing a lot of granola bars when we travel. The resort does advertise allergy-friendly meal options. However, we found that the chefs and waitstaff are not well informed about basic allergy/dietary issues (i.e. that dairy-free ravioli is no longer dairy-free when it is cooked in butter). That said, we love Fairmont Southampton and will certainly go again.

Great for families

We returned to the Southampton Princess as a more or less scouting expedition. We have taken our children--and now our grandchildren--to Bermuda in the recent past, but have stayed at small hotels. We have also rented a house. But I think the kids need children their own age and more activities that are age appropriate. The Southampton Princess would meet our needs and we look forward to staying there in the not too distant future. Our own children, now middle aged parents themselves, will enjoy a return trip to the Southampton Princess, where we stayed when THEY were children.
