Disappointing for a 4-star Resort
Stay here for Christmas 2012. Expected a lot more from a 4-star hotel. The staff were hit or miss. The male concierge truly wanted to make your stay a great one as well as the drivers. The lady that checked us in could care less to be there. All over the website and flyers, it clearly states that there is a sushi hour at the Blu restaurant. After unpacking and going to back to the lady to tell her that we need the shuttle to Blu for sushi, we arrive at the Blu only to be told that sushi hour never existed ever! So we return to the hotel and tell the lady this and she's like oh, no one told you when you checked in that this doesn't exist. I was mad since she was the one who checked me in and had many opportunities to tell me that it didn't exist. There were no activities available on the resort for the holidays. We learned that Dec. 26th is also a national holiday for Bermuda. Our room had ants! It would occasionally get into our bed and bags. If there were no ants, the room would be perfect and top-notch. The restaurant staff were great! They truly care that you have a good dining experience. The spa is overpriced and nothing special. The pool offers an excellent view of Hamilton but it wasn't very clean. At night, upon returning from dinner, I saw a RAT roaming around. This was around 7pm.

Short drive from hotel
Take advantage of the free ferry and go to Hamilton for dinner. Lots more options to eat. I would take the first 5pm ferry to the city and then take the last 7pm ferry back to the hotel.

perfect location
A short ferry ride or even shorter water shuttle ride from Hamilton, this location has access to all that Bermuda can offer -- once in Hamilton, use buses, ferries, and taxis to get around. Restaurant on property first-rate though expensive. The Sunday brunch outstanding for quality, variety, and presentation. Golf course rewards good shot-making. Staff are friendly, helpful, generous. One-bedroom suites are large, with kitchen and 1-1/2 baths.

We recommend this stay!
We loved that golf was associated with the hotel. The infinity pool is lovely, although the chairs around the pool could use some updating and a little more pool service would be nice too. But, the rooms are newly renovated and a comfortable size. The views are tremendous. It's in a quiet and pretty spot.

I will never go to another hotel in Bermuda
The hotel was much smaller and more secluded than the other bigger hotels in Bermuda. It's got an infinity pool, very spacious rooms (I had a double), and an outdoor patio. The view was overlooking Hamilton and simply gorgeous. They also have free water taxis to Hamilton so it was still easy to get to places. The only thing is that there were no complimentary breakfasts which would have made the experience perfect. The staff were by far the friendliest people. They were so accommodating and were available 24/7. The value was also great because I booked a flight and hotel deal for 3 nights. SO amazing, loved it!! GO GO GO!

Not sure we would go back
Good things - great, spacious rooms great views of the harbour great pool (but small) gets crowded easily nice staff at the front desk, everyone is very nice Not so great things - -You have to take a shuttle to the beach and since the vans only fit 4 people you could wait 30min-1 hour for the next shuttle. Very annoying -Nothing is walking distance and the shuttles/taxis are not very dependable (and don't run on Sunday) -taxi downtown is $24 roundtrip so add that to a night past 8:20pm since the free shuttles stop running then -One of the restaurant hosts turned us away for dinner because we were wearing dressy flip flops, only to allow another party in who was wearing flip flops. it was just rude especially since our dinner was $180 after we went back to change. he was the only person who was not polite and helpful.

Nice clean hotel near Hamilton.. Nice sunset
Advertised free airport pick-up, but when I called them from the airport they could not come to get us because I did not give them more than 24 hours notice. Taxi cost us 40 dollars( for 2 passengers). But they gave us free transport on our way back home.

Check out the daily happy hour at the pool bar for half off the drinks, 5-7 pm. It almost makes them comparable to prices in the states.

Great time away
The rooms were clean and spacious....the view tremendous.....the staff was very curtious and attentive....small minor details are missed....they need a little more staff policing the place for trash....and the shower in the room is dangerous to get in and out of ....very slippery and no traction strips....overall great place......we love Bermuda ...we have been coming for 18 years....and will return to this hotel...GREAT GREAT POOL with awesome view

Home away from home
We spent 5 nights at Newstead. Spacious rooms and terraces with stunning views of downtown Hamilton and the harbour. Bermuda was a very pleasant surprise with picturesque golf courses and crystal clear water suitable for memorable snorkeling. Fine dining is also just a taxi ride [expensive]away. The entire staff was extremely accomodating in every way possible.

Harbourside is a great venue for sushi and ding right at waters edge. Bolero is a very eclectic place w/ a creative chef. Ascot and Fourways are fine but stuffy old school places.overpriced.
