Wonderful Getaway

Elbow Beach hotel has one of the best beaches on the Island. Large bathroom with separate shower and large tub. Comfortable bed and soft linens. The hotel itself could use some upgrading, however the staff was excellent and so weren't the restaurants. We liked the Seahorse Grill so much we ate there a second night. We dined outside high up on the terrace which had the most breathtaking views.....candles and wine....great food and service..... what more could you want!

better than most resorts

The idea of staying at a resort really turns me off. Perhaps becausde the only ones I had ever been to were on budget-friendly fanily vacations and those all-inclusive types. The Elbow Beach Club was really great-sophisticated, clean, and really pretty. Although it is an older hotel (early 1900s), the property has a lot of contemporary ammenities and has been kept very well. We stayed in a Premiere Suite that was not a part of the main hotel. It had a spacious room with a nice size spa shower and tub, plus a really quiet terrace that we could look down at the beach from. It was so peacful and quite at night that the only thing you could hear were the frogs out side croaking. There were a lot of families there, but it was still a great place for us to honeymoon. Highly recommended.

5 better than average restaurants - a bit pricey, but then again, everything in Bermuda is almost double it's cost in the US. there's a great diner a few doors down on the main road. the food is good, and the menu is not as pricey because it's diner food.

Five Star

Elbow Beach exceeded our expectations. The staff made sure everything was perfect. The beach, pool and views from our beautiful room were all second to none. Excellent central location in Bermuda, even though you never really need to leave.

Exceptional Staff and Stay

We really loved our stay at Elbow Beach and would certainly return. The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The customer experience at this facility was wonderful. We stayed in the main building in a junion suite which was great. The bathroom was a little small but we managed. The food and drinks ($11 per when on the beach) are expensive and not worth the money. All drink and food transactions also carry a 17% gratuity.

Elegant and romantic place

This is my second visit to Bermuda so I know the hotel options in this beautiful island. This time my husband and I wanted to try a club environment for a romantic get-away. The hotel turns out to be a bit old, although still elegant. The buildings show some signs of age... small bathroom, not so efficient plumbing etc. However, the ocean view from the room is breathtaking, the room is comfortable, and the private sandy beach, beautiful. The hotel staff are well trained and very pleasant and welcoming. We enjoyed excellent meals at several restaurants inside the compound throughout our stay. However, $48 per person for an OK buffet breakfast is hard to take. I recommend you choose from a la carte breakfast menu. We will definitely return after the hotel goes through a promised/proposed renovation in a year or so.

Great location & amenities

Elbow Beach put us in an excellent suite with an attached lawn and sea view. Acccess to the beach was easy. The room itself was very well appointed, with sufficient lounging as well as sleeping space. The bathroom and vanity area were new and very well designed. All in all, a highly enjoyable experience.

Lots of Fun even in the Rain

My Wife and I had a great experience at the Elbow Beach Club. Although it was our honeymoon and it rained there were plenty of activities to keep us busy including, tennis, kite sailing, snorkling, sun bathing, spa, etc. The cuisine is top shelf and the people / employees are very accommodating. Overall I would highly recommend this Club.

ideal place for a long weekend...or more

loved staying in one of the villa type rooms. This is a great trip for a weekend getaway. We went for 4 nights from NY and because of the short flight it felt like a week. It was beautiful and restful. The spa is wonderful. The beach is gorgeaous. Not a lot for kids to do besides beach and pool but we did not travel with our kids this time. Hotel is top notch. The island feels safe and everyone is so nice. Would definately go back.

Food is very expensive. Would try to get a meal plan if they have one. Or if traveling with kids would walk to grocery store and get supplies for snacks and breakfast to keep in refridgerator in room.

luxury living

The hotel was really special in so many ways. It's right on the ocean and a beautifully maintained beach is equipped with chaise lounges, beach umbrellas and tables. A restaurant is located right at the beach for drinks, etc. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. I was absolutely shocked at the prices for food - breakfast, lunch and especially dinner. Everything cost a fortune. That seemed to be the case not only at the Elbow Beach but, to a lesser degree, in most of Bermuda. I heard tourism is down 26% for the first three months of 2009 and wonder if, since the economy is hurting, they should think about more practical food prices.

The public bus which is very nice travels all over the island and you can get a pass for a day, or two or longer. The taxis are quite expensive and you cannot rent a car in Bermuda.
