great beach. staff was good. it was off season so not everything was as good as it could have been at another time of year. one big down fall was the bed and pillows, rock hard. we awoke each day with back aches. the food menu stayed the same throughout the week and was expensive. we shopped at a local market and kept some food supplies in the room. food throughout the island is expensive.

Ocean Front Charm & Near The Awesome Paraquet Restaurant

Wonderful resort in a premium location. The waves are practically at your doorstep. The staff is just great. The views are incredible. You will not be disappointed with the location and close to bus stops, a supermarket, and, just a short walk from the Paraquet Restaurant - a wonderful local establishment that serves up quality fare at a fantastic price. The staff of both properties are helpful and nice. It is the Daily Double of Bermuda. The Coco Reef Resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and, a charming experience overall.

Used to be a 5, definitly not a 3

Our 5th Bermuda vacation, flew in rather then cruise... great decision! The Coco Reef facilities and the exceptional, attentive, 5 star, staff.... SUPERB!! It is Bermuda, food and drink is expensive... on balance a cruise is the most economical way to go.. but 2 and half days is not enough to fully taken in the islands and interact with the wonderful people. We have no challenge, at all, in suggesting that you plan your to stay at the Coco Reef.

Public transit is excellent... We went for "day passes", this gave us unrestricted use of the bus and ferries. Take the North Shore Fast Ferry, in season... great ride.

Coco Reef, Bermuda

Stay was O.K., was a little put out by term "Beach Front", because the day I made reservation I called the Coco Reef to find out if "Beach Front" ment I could walk out the patio onto the beach. After reassurance it wasn't oceanview but "Beach Front" I booked, somehow 2nd floor felt oceanview. Restaurant was O.K. nothing great not bad, just O.K.. Our best meals were in Hamilton, at Little Venice on Bermudiana St., had dinner twice in one week, short ribs were the best I ever had, and the owners make you feel like one of the family. Back to Coco Reef. they have a freindly helpful staff.

Our best meals were in Hamilton, at "Little Venice" on Bermudiana St., had dinner twice in one week, short ribs were the best I ever had, and the owners make you feel like one of the family. They also have a great Happy Hour that keeps the people at the bar after the discount is gone. Treat yourself.

beautiful beach location

Nice hotel, except that the lobby décor was a bit odd and dated. The staff was always helpful and polite. It was just a short walk to the bus stop if you don't care to keep using taxis, and the market nearby kept us supplied with cool drinks and dairy( for my coffee). Having the fridge in the room was great.. The breakfast was adequate, but got a little boring after day 4, but was a great time saver being onsite. The hill was grueling at times, but that is the nature of the Elbow beach hotels.

The Bermuda Experience

We have been to the island 8 times now, 3 of those times at CoCo Reef. The location is absolutely gorgeous and allows for easy enjoyment of Bermuda beaches. This hotel does not have all the bells and whistles of the Princess, but it makes up for it in privacy and laid back atmosphere. The rooms and decor are a little dated but the new management seems committed to making the hotel the best it can be. This is a great launching point for those who like to explore and experience the whole island but still gives that "all inclusive" feel.

A nearby restaurant called Blu has a fantastic Asian fusion menu and one of the best sunset views on the island overlooking the golf course and the Great Harbor.

Great Location...but...

If you are looking to stay on Elbow Beach but you cannot afford the price of the Mandarin, then Coco Reef is a good option. The views are amazing, the beach is gorgeous, and you can literally snorkel directly in front of the location. However, this is a no frills "resort." The rooms are spartan and there are no complimentary extras. The restaurant is very expensive. As with most dining options in Bermuda, be prepared for a hefty bill. On the plus side, there are refrigerators in the room, which allow you to stock up on essentials which can be purchased at Modern Mart just down the road.

Modern Mart. Food is expensive in Bermuda, so if you are on a budget or simply looking to save some money, I suggest you take advantage of the small grocery store a short walk away. Also, if you are the adventuring type, consider renting a scooter from Oleander, Smats, or Elbow Beach scooter rental located at the Mandarin next door.

Peaceful getaway

The beach front location was wonderful. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful local. It was pricey- but you pay for that beach. The mattress was hard, and we did have an ant problem. They were alert and dealing with it. The staff was pleasant, but not always around. The one restaurant was OK, but there are so many great eateries in Bermuda-- but it does take a costly cab ride . You can take a bus, but it is a hot uphill hike to the bus stop. There is a hike up and down to the beach. If you want quiet and view, this is it
