Fairmont Thanksgiving Package
This was our first trip to Bermuda. It was a wonderful experience that we will repeat often. The one sour note was with the airport transfer package that we booked along with the hotel and air. Beeline stood us up on the return trip after they called to confirm the pickup time. There was no call, no apology. The Fairmont staff was, of course, on top of the problem and got us to the airport on time at Beeline's expense.

Furniture were old and tatered
The one single chair I had IN THE ROOM the cover was torn. When one pays over $400 for a room the furniture should be in a good shape.

Not up to 4 Star Value
Staff was courteous, and doormen were great! Hotel location and room location was as described. The public areas were well kept. The room was disappointing even though we upgraded to a water view with balcony. Patio furniture belonged in a garage sale. Unstable and in disrepair. Overall, the room needed repair, upgrading, and paint. The TV was from the 1980s, and TV reception was very poor.

Expect just a bit more for that price range
Bermuda hotels are notoriously expensive but when you add various taxes, resort fees (?), etc., they border on the ridiculous. For that kind of price, free internet and a small bottle of water are a must, but you have to pay for both at the Hamilton Princess... Also, the furniture in the room is getting old and was all scratched up in places. Soundproofing is poor. I was awaken every morning at 5am by a neighbor taking a shower or housekeeping getting ready for their day....

Getaway for Two
Our first but not last trip to bermuda as a couple. The hotel experience was outstanding for us and we intend to return. A quality experience, the salt water pool was a big plus for us and the short walk to downtown Hamiliton and the ferry service to the Fairmont Southampton with beach a real convenience. Room service was exceptional and dining outside for lunch and under the stars convenient and memorable. A helpful staff, classic tastful and clean room left us with no complaints and a total focus on having a great long awaited vacation. No meaningful issues to note unless a flat screen TV is a must in your room as not all sets are upgraded yet.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Flannagan's Pub was good dining, great drinks and good value after a day on the beach or at the pool. A good thing to check is when cruise liner is docking at Hamilton as it blocks the view of the bay and adds many more people to downtown, so plan accordingly.

Beach was inconvenient, overcrowded and Bermuda is expensive
If you haven't been to Bermuda before be ready for price shock. Things, especially food, are very expensive. We traveled to Venice, Itally last year and felt that the prices were as expensive as Venice. The beach for the two Princess hotels on the island is small and overcorwded. Rows and rows of loungers packed in tightly together. The ferry ride from the Hamilton Princess sounds really nice but there isn't any air conditioning and the captain couldn't go any slower if he wanted to. It is a half hour ferry ride and then when you get from the Hamilton Princess to the Southhampton Princess dock you have to take a trolley to the hotel and then down to the beach. It is a good 45 minute deal. Also, the ferry schedule is very, very limited so you can go to the beach at 10 and can't go again until 1:30.
