Not bad

The staff were all fantastic, they really made the place. It is a very old hotel and it could use a few upgrades. Our room was not great but again, the staff made up for it.

Unbelievable

The hotel is a dream. Though its a bit of a hike to get to the beach, they provide you with a free ferry and shuttle service to their own private beach. The staff and service is incomparable to any other place I've been to. Truly courteous and helpful service. The view from the grounds is breath taking. The beds are so comfortable I slept for hours and hours. I feel that I got everything I paid for.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Dining in Hamilton is expensive, so stop by the supermarket to pick up some supplies before it closes around 5pm. Even snacks can bring up the hotel bill $10 to $20.

great trip to Bermuda

The Princess is located just 10 minutes walk from downtown Hamilton so is great if you want to be close to the action but not in it! We stayed in the Bermuda wing of the hotel and it was recently remodelled. The rooms were clean and well furnished but small. Hotel has two pools and they have floats and noodles for the kids at one. Boat shuttle to beach was fun each day but took a little planning as the times are a little odd. Its free and you can get towels at the beach when you get there. Nice beach at the Southhampton with lots of kids and rentals for kayaks, floats snorkels etc, also plenty of sun beds, bar and snacks. Very good value for money with the rate we got through orbits. food was ok but service was slow. food at the bars and pubs in Hamilton was less expensive as long as you dont mind the walk into town. Previously stayed at the Southhampton, this is smaller and less formal. Also stayed at the Grotto Bay, great beach, but a long way from anything and more expensive. Will probably try to book 2 nights at Grotto bay next year for the beach and 3 or 4 nights at the princess for time around Hamilton. All in all a great hotel for the money if you dont mind having to take a boat ride to the beach!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Drinks in the Hotel are expensive so a 10 minute walk into Hamilton and you can stock up and save a little cash. We packed beer and snacks for the beach each day and saved a bundle! a soft cooler bag and some ice from the machine and your good to go!

Pleasant stay at the Fairmont Hamilton

Pleasant stay at the Fairmont Hamilton. Room not available until close to 4 p.m., but hotel is very close to downtown Hamilton, so walked to town, had lunch, then went back to hotel and relaxed around the pool. There was some confusion as to whether breakfast was included, I believed it was, and [...]at the front desk, made sure that it was included. (Good job [...]!) Other agents at front desk were very helpful on Sunday with bus info to St. George (not sure I would go back to St. George again. Not too much to see or do). Did take hotel ferry to Southampton beach, which was very, very crowded. Walked next door to Horseshoe Bay beach, which is absolutely beautiful, rented an umbrella and spent the afternoon. Would strongly recommned visiting this beach. BEAUTIFUL. Salt water pool at hotel wasn't as crowded as regular pool. Would recommend checking it out.Service at hotel is good, not great. Gratuities automatically added to all hotel bills, which makes me wonder if there is little incentive to provide great service.

Nice hotel, uneven service

The Fairmount Hamlton has a lot going for it, great location, two pools, ferry service to its sister hotel with beach access and golf. The Water Lot Inn at the other hotel was tremendous. My only complaint was that while some of the service was great, other parts of th service left something to be desired. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, service in the restaurant was slow, and lacked the prompt and dedicated service one would expect from such a hotel. The food prices are high too, but not out of line with other places on the island. All in all, nice place, good amentities, but not exceptional.

Bermuda at its Finest!

Staff at the hotel performed at a level you don't find in many resort locations. Smiles and while staying for just a few days, many of the staff learned our names and were very friendly. Rooms were updated, well sized and kept clean.

Great location for nightime fun

Our family of 8 (parents and 3 young adult couples) stayed for a long weekend at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. It was a great location for enjoying the downtown nightlife and easy accesss to the ferry to visit it's sister hotel. My only gripe was that internet access was an additional charge of 14.00 per day and no free wireless zones! Food was good (expensive)and the staff was attentive. Motorbike rental next door was a plus.
