Calm, tropical relaxation in Bermuda above a pink-sand beach
A relaxing getaway doesn't get much more idyllic than the Grotto Bay Beach Resort, overlooking the blue Atlantic waters and a pink-sand beach. Fun family trip
Grotto Bay Resort is 10 minutes from the airport. Hotel staff is helpful at all times. My family of 5 stayed in July for 5 nights in connecting rooms on the ground level. Rooms were very clean. There was noise when the room above us used the shower. We had the inclusive dining plan which we all enjoyed. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Couples and Families Galore!!!
Came with 3 other bro's. This definitely wasn't the place for us. Some cool aspects of the place such as swimming in caves and a 24 hour pool. But they charge for everything like kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, playing on the inflatables in the ocean, breakfast, wifi and the concierge tries to get you to do these hotels activities as much as possible. This seemed to be the overall trend of the island as a whole. There are much better options if you head off site and get to know some locals who can direct you to some fun activities such as cliff jumping, caves, and nightlife activities. The place had some really nice staff like Stevon who told us about things going on around the island like a nearby cricket match and a reggae festival. Also had another bartender recommend a great restaurant in hamilton called the Lobster Pot. The close proximity to the airport makes it good if you have to catch an early flight but it is not the best area for night life. Next time I go back to bermuda it will probably be with a girlfriend and I will stay closer to hamilton.

Very satisfied
Staff was very friendly. Very nice room views. Would be nice if there were a few more local places to have dinner, but Swizzle Inn had a good menu selection. In room wifi was $50 for the week but most of the time we couldn't even connect. We enjoyed the beach and pool and didn't find it too crowded. We had our 4 yr. old granddaughter with us and she absolutely loved swimming inthe cave. Blue Hole water sports next door was very convenient for renting kayaks, boats, etc. Also was able to go on scuba diving trip right next door. We enjoyed our stay very much and would return again.

Great Bermuda Spot!
The best thing about this hotel is the friendliness of the staff. They go out of their way to make your stay excellent. I loved not being in the big city of Hamilton. Grotto Bay has everything you need within walking distance. Unlike most resort, Grotto Bay has its own beach which is a BIG plus. Most resorts you have to take a bus to the beach. Grotto Bay has full beach and pool access right out your door. The food was great. Attended the surf n turf night and loved the entertainment and poolside buffet.

nice getaway
Our stay was consistent with what we heard/read from reviews - nice property; clean; staff were great/very hospitable; rooms - average (bedding/mattress need an upgrade); very cool swimming in the cave; great massages; food was good, bar service -- hmm could have been better; location was decent (near airport but can't remember even "hearing" a plane take off); took cabs, bus & rented a scooter (which we ended up using the most) to get around the island ... went shopping, horseback riding, snorkeling, played golf, visited other beaches, restaurants & towns. A visit to nearby Swizzle is a must for food/drinks. The weather was on our side ... 85 degress & sunny the 5 days we were there; we enjoyed the island ... and only a 2 hour trip from Balt/DC area ... we'll be back:)

Excellent vacation!!
We took advantage of the all inclusive meal plan which includes unlimited cocktails - highly recommended. The food was great plus every staff member was so accomodating from housekeeping, concierge, bartenders, waiters, etc. Great location with walking distance to the Crystal Caves and Rum Swizzle Inn and also the bus stop was right outside the hotel. We also rented mopeds for a day to go to Horseshoe Bay and Hamilton. We will definitely be back to Grotto!

Great Vacation
My sister & I had the best vacation ever! The people at this resort work very hard and are great. Our special appreciation goes to Duane-the bartender, Ben & James-waiters, Cristian-Maitre'd, our housekeeper, the gentlemen who opened doors, the cooks and everyone there! These employees helped make the experience a memorable one. We knew if we had any problems, they would take care of it or get Michael to fix it. However, no problems, no worries, just a great time! The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. One of the best times was swimming in the cave. We will be back. Thanks again to everyone at Grotto Bay. "The Sisters"

great hotel for young family!
The hotel was child friendly and a great place to spend 5 days with a 16 months old baby! the sea is blue as the Carrebean, very calm and the beach big enough for him to have fun.there's also a beach where to feed the fishes, great! the Hotel is literaly 5min from the Hotel so far away from Hamilton but close to St. George which is the historic heart of the island. Hamilton is very commercial.if you plan to stay inside the hotel, it might be worth choosing the all inclusive package.

you can take the bus to go around the island but don't rely on the timing. they come and go with their own Bermudan time...so expect to wait under the sun.

Friendly helpful staff. The property was a little dated, but well maintained. We had a problem with bugs in our room, ants and very big cockroaches. Nice experience, but would stay a little closer to southhampton on our next visit.

The Landing resturaunt is a short drive from Grotto Bay Resort and a fantastic way to celebrate your time in Bermuda. Great food, great service, beautiful veiws, and moderately priced.
