Grottoriffic!
Grotto Bay is the Perfect Bermuda retreat! Never would I consider staying any place else! The Staff is the best, the hotel is the best, and the food at the hotel is the ultimate in fine dining! I took my new husband here in July 2012 and had not been here for 20 years when I had gone with another husband and what a treat! It was even more beautiful! Be sure to eat at the local restaurants as well. Swim in the cave at the hotel! Travel the Island as the locals do and get to know the people and you will love the place. It has become like another home. I wish we could move there. Be sure to enjoy all the hotel events while you are there and let them truly entertain you as they will!

Do not do the meal plan at the hotel. You can eat for less on your own. Share meals and eat locally as well. But they give you enough food with each meal to share no matter where you go and it is wonderful. Save a little where you can and then splure on the really great food you want to on those special dinners and things you really want!

Travel with my mother
My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Grotto Bay. The staff were very gracious and accommodating. There are a number of stairs to move around the resort but staff were always on hand to give us a quick ride whenever she was not up to the walk. We were worried that the location near the airport would be disruptive but it is very quiet - not to worry. The restaurants onsite are quite good and all the facilities are lovely. Swimming in a cave was a first for both of us and quite an amazing experience!

Birthday Getaway
The staff was very helpful. The Food was great but expensive (remember, you're in Bermuda). Centrally located to all the attractions, some of which you can walk to. Public transportation stops at the resort every 15 min's. Passes can be bought at the front desk. Beautiful beach, heated pool and a restaurant pool/beachside.

Easy Getaway
Beautiful views and convenient location to airport and public transportation. Staff is excellent and accommodating. Food is good but not exceptional. The $99 meal plan is probably not a good value unless you consume a lot of alcoholic beverages.

60th Birthday
My husband and I had a wonderful time in Bermuda and especially at the Grotto Bay Resort. Everything you need is on the property. We had a delicious lunch outside, tremendous buffet breakfasts and a lovely dinner in the Palm Court. All of the personnel were attentive, courteous and excelled at making us feel very special. June the concierge was delightful and helped us plan a day of touring that we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, we had to deal with Hurricane Rafael for an entire day but we went into one of the on site caves and swam in the beautiful blue/green waters. I have been to Bermuda to 1995 and I love this island and its people. We will come back!

Food is quite expensive in Bermuda and ice tea refills were not free. We had lunch at the Pickled Onion on Front Street in Hamilton. Everything was delicious, but because we did not ask if refills were free our bill was quite exorbitant. Almost $100 for Fish & Chips, Salad and Quiche, 2 cups of soup and 2 ice teas. But we both had 2 refills at $3.75 each. Ridiculous,

A lovely hotel, convienent for a quick get away close to airport. Location is great for catching the buses to Hamilton or St. George. Hotel has bus tokens and tickets and motor scooter rentals near. Walls are very thin, bed not the greatest Food and drink are pricier in Bermuda and all depends on where you dine. Breakfast at Grotto will run you 20$ PP for full breakfast. Overall, enjoyable place to stay and a nice quiet relaxing resort.

Short walk from hotel
The Swizzle Inn is a short walk down the road. Hamilton is 25 min bus ride and St. George is 10 min ride over the bridge. There is no Night life here in downtown bermuda and places/stores close early. Reservations recommended for dining.
