One of the worst I ever seen
Only one good thing about it is location. Rest is very dissapointing. Main problem is airconditioneer. It is WORST i ever had. It is not central air, it is window type (in 4 star hotel!). As result - VERY nosiy, uneven cool, can;t sleep at night - it is like having trucks runnning before your window. Restorant is even worst - horrible food - salad had wroten fruits, soup was burnt..... We got out before main dish... I would recommend to avoid.

Safe Location in Belize City
The hotel is somewhat older (they all are). The lobby is well cared for, the staff very efficient and friendly. The hotel is located on a "point' of land, just SE of the "downtown" area. The famous swing bridge is a short walk. The staff does a great job watching over things, including having watchmen on the property around-the-clock (which is necessary, as petty theft and pan-handling is rampant). If you are departing on one of the live-aboard dive boats, this is the place where you will meet. There is also a marina that can arrange local scuba trips out to Turneffe Atoll and Ambergris. If you want to do tours (Mayan ruins, zip-lining, etc), they have someone in-house that can arrange it for you. You can also walk out the main door, turn left, and there are "drivers" that can take you anywhere in their taxi. The property has in-house restaurants which are pretty good. They have pools which are also nice. You don't want to venture far from this place at night, as street crime seems to be a real problem in Belize City.

Don't Judge Belize by Belize City Alone - Okay Digs
I see titles like "Belize City is not for me." It's important for travelers to know Belize City is the worst area for crime. But it's not all bad. There are areas, in day time, you can visit - be smart and watch your back. I like the moutains and the ocean areas of Belize. They have spectacular views and if you scuba this is the coast for you. The second largest rief in the world, plus the great Blue Hole. As for Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina, I love the decor, but the food and beverages are way over priced. Try to eat out. You will save a lot of money. The rooms are large, but not setup so you can sit at a small table for 2. They do offer some great views from their rooms, depending. The maintenance and concierge staff are awesome. The crew behind the desk have a slight attitude, but do their job. I love the way the inside of lobby is decorated. Actually, the whole hotel is decorated nicely. The swimming pool is large - I like it! Great place for a convention!

Belize City is not for me.
The Radisson was fine. Belize City is frightening and not a place to go. My boyfriend and I are both in law enforcement, and have a fairly good read on people. This is not a place to explore. We went for a short walk into town, or almost into town, we turned around after getting accosted by a drug dealer and a very aggressive "tour" guide. Our final destination was Amberguis Caye, and having never been to Belize before we thought we would spend a day in Belize City, mistake. Amberguis Caye is beautiful, and safe. I have not gotten any sort of bad feelings here. We have walked at night and ridden bikes around San Pedro and on the beaches. Skip Belize City.

Save money, skip Belize City all together. If you have to stay in Belize City for business or some other reason the Radisson is a nice hotel. It's clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, food is good, and the pool was nice.

Radisson in Belize
The reason for our trip to Belize was to see ancient Mayan temples. The reason we chose the Radisson was because we figured it was centrally located. I've been to many Caribbean and Central American countries, so I consider myself a good judge on these trips. I always read travelers reviews with a grain of salt, and after this trip I can see what all the negative comments were all about. The Radisson is in the city, and Belize City is not nice at all. It is a scary place, the natives were not nice and down right dis respectable. On the way home from an excursion a group of men made sexually inappropriate comments to me and my husband, (talk about uncomfortable and frightening). The staff in all the restaurants were horribly slow and made you feel like you were bothering them. But again we went to see the Mayan sites, which we booked the nights before in the lobby, and it was very convenient. The Mayan ruins were great, but be prepared for very hot and physically tough hikes to get there. I'm glad I went to Belize, but if you're going for rest and relaxation this is not the country for you.

overnight stay
We stayed at the Radisson the night before the flight home. After 6 days in the jungle and 2 on a caye, a nice hotel was fantastic. We arrived about 10 am and got right into our room. Everyone was very nice, the public areas were attractive, and the room with a/c was quite comfortable. (The hallways are not air-conditioned, which I think is a good thing.) We didn't actually use any amenities, but the pool looked very inviting. If I return to Belize, I would consider using this hotel as a base and making day-trips from there.

Great Place to stay
We stayed at The Radisson Fort George one night before our flight home from Belize. It was a very pleasant place for us. The people that work there were great, just as helpful as they could be. The rooms were clean and attractive, beds were comfortable, the Restaurant food was good. It is probably not as fancy as one in the US but was very nice for Belize City. We all had coffee and breakfast at The Petit Cafe and they had excellant prices and food. We would stay there again.

Quiet and friendly place
We were there for 6 nights and the weather was beautiful except for one day when it rained for a couple of hours. We used the pool by the stone dinning place daily. It was very clean and quiet around the pool. It was very relaxing! The jacuzzi was closed the entire time when we were there. The food menus at the hotel are very limited and it did not meet our standards. The nearby restaurants have better selections and more appetizing and quality food. The hotel staff was very friendly and very helpful.
