Hotel Shuttle
The hotel was great once we found it. Airport information told me that a shuttle ran every 30 minutes so we found the appropriate spot and waited. Other shuttle buses came and went but not ours. A driver directed us to a small notice that said we had to call the hotel arrange for the complimentary shuttle. The Italian phone we had did not recognize any of the numbers no matter how I dialed them. Two and a half hours later, we found a taxi. The hotel offered us 2 Belgian chocolates for compensation!

Great hotel!
The drinks in your minbar in the room are free! The restaurant was very nice, beautifully furnished and food good.

Its a short walk from the train station at Diegem, so no need to train to airport and wait for a shuttle - which doesn't really run that often on Sundays.

Excellent very comfortable room,
Excellent very comfortable room, internet included free, which is amazing for Belgium! Have the 15 Euro business buffet lunch. Fantastic value. Very helpful courteous staff. We did not arrive until 5.30 am after a long day and night's travel by train, coach, ferry, coach and, finally, taxi owing to the snow chaos and Heathrow's complete inability to be a modern fully functioning airport! Never, never fly into or out of Heathrow if you can possibly avoid it!

strategic location for business travel
I used the hotel as a hub for travel to Leuven and Brussels. It is very close to the Airport, has a shuttle, and the train station is in the airport.

Van der Valk Hotel at Brussels Airport
The Van der Valt Hotel at Brussels Airport. We contacted hotel via the airport information desk, and since it was a weekend, they arranged to have a taxi pick us up, and the hotel paid the taxi fare. The hotel is close by and upon arriving, the check-in process was easy and simple. The room was very modern, spacious, and clean. Wake up call was interesting, since it came via the tv, and it took a minuet to find out how to turn it off! Arrangements for shuttle to the airport the next morning was as promised. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a very fine hotel property.

The food was wonderful, the service a little slow, but they had a large party taking up a major portion of the dining room. Since it was below 0 outside, the hotel dining room was a great choice.

Very nice accomodations & helpful staff
Very convenient location in relation to the airport and Vilvoorde, my working location. My GPS took me on the backstreets and I arrived in Vilvoorde in less than 10 minutes. The rooms at this property are very nice. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The train to airport or Brussels Central is only a five minute walk. Surprisingly fast wireless internet available for free. That's rare in Europe! The only negative was the food, which was too expensive and only so-so. Also, there are not a whole lot of other dining options close by. I'm the kind of person that will take the train into Brussels for a good meal. Definite bonuses were free beverages and fruit. Not sure if that's a routine offering. The fitness center had very nice equipment and an interesting view.

Dining in Brussels city center was only a five minute walk on both ends with a 20 min. train ride in between. Trains run every 20 mins during week and on the hour on weekends.
