Features
The rich history of The Dominican's location, on the site of a 15th century Dominican Abbey, provides the inspiration for the hotel's name, design, and architecture, including soaring ceilings, original stone floors, sweeping archways, and tranquil cloisters. The site was also home to French painter Jacques-Louis David, who painted here his last masterpiece, "Mars disarmed by Venus and the Three Graces." Architects integrated the façade of David's house into the design of The Dominican.
Voluminous ceilings, high windows, natural lighting, and intricate metal work only heighten the experience of dining at The Grand Lounge, the heart of The Dominican. Guests enjoy an innovative menu and extensive selection of drinks. The Lounge Bar offers a perfect combination of a traditional café and stylish lounge, with a cutting-edge interior design, inventive drinks, and an a la carte menu. A 300-year-old fig tree shades diners in warmer weather in The Courtyard.
A fully equipped gym enables guests to maintain a healthy lifestyle, while the Finnish sauna and Turkish steam bath provide for relaxation.

Close to perfection
I just stayed for 1 night, but it was perfect. I worked a bit and the desk, though tiny, was OK. Free WiFi. The bed was very comfortable and it's a pleasure to wake up and be able to have a Nespresso. The shower is wonderful. All the amenities, from bathrobe to flip-flaps, are included.

Very funky and beautiful hotel
Very funky and beautiful hotel in the center of Brussels. Luxury allover, from the bar with fireplace to the reception area. Rooms were huge with a cosy sitting area and bathroom with a walk in rainshower. Bed with sumptuous linen, great matrass and pillows. Staff very helpful, multilingual and friendly. Our stay was just perfect and the best we ever had in Brussels. Highly recommended !!!!!

Perfectly placed oasis
Walk into a small but stylish reception, beautifully decorated. The check-in desk is small with space for two terminals. Sometimes you have to wait for your turn but the staff are patient and helpful. Check in and out was smooth and quick. We liked that you need your cardkey to operate the lifts. A cosy bar and lounge with atrium dining space was popular with guests and locals alike. Stayed in room 233 & 235 which overlooked the dining atrium so it was a pleasant view. The bedrooms were a compact size with wall mounted central flat-screen TV panel and cupboard under it, armchair, desk+chair, mini-bar, tea/coffee, safe and iron + board in wardrobe. They had a topper on our kingsize bed but it didn't help that the mattress was sagging in the middle and should be replaced (we told them) We asked for a shower in our very compact ensuite. The glass side panel wasn't wide enough to stop water splashing out so place the mat by the entrance to the shower cubicle. Also the tray holding your toiletries is at the opposite end to the shower head so you have to stretch or turn around to reach it. Minor point - cleaners didn't clean off drips from shower tray so limescale marks made it look "dirty". Everything is in walking distance, attractions, restaurants, shopping... even minimart is 1 min away. If you drive, park in multi-storey car park on Rue de l' Ecuyer (approx £14.50/day), also 1 min walk away. Bring good walking shoes as most tourist areas are cobble-stoned!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Beware restaurant row on Rue Marche Aux Herbes - prices are v high and they charge for every little thing - paid £3 for a thin glass(4cm x 12/13cm) of Coke. Even tried to charge for the free cocktails and deserts we didn't order. Paid for what we did eat and left. Go to Arcadi, a typical French style cafe on same road as car park for breakfast. Full English, lovely open omelettes, hot chocolate.
