Stayed here few years running

Stayed here few years running with the health club being a major draw. 10 min walk into Grand Place that may not suit some. but buses and the Metro nearby. Major shopping areas of Ave Louise and around Namur are about 5 mins walk away. Nice size rooms appear well maintained. Beds had mattress toppers so quite comfortable. Windows will open for a change of air. Breakfast included in rate and was of good quality and choice. Be clueless about people's needs e.g. no plates, no replenishment of jams, no teaspoons on the table. Monday's service was noticably different. Health club does not open the pool until 6pm weekdays - shame when arriving Fri afternoon for a weekend stay. Open every morning and all day Sat and Sun though. Parking apparently not included in my booking. Unless I paid the high charge to access the internet, I couldn't verify. Managed to find the out of zone area so parked about 5 mins walk away.

Clean, Simple and Nicely Located

Booked this hotel since it was the cheapest hotel we could find that was somewhat centrally located. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel staff were, clean and comfortable the room was and how close the hotel was to the main part of town which is only about 15-20 min walk away--albeit in freezing weather when we were there. Note: we had double beds and my traveling partner complained that their's sunk into the middle; I thought mine was quite comfortable. Also, at check-in I was offered a 50 euro package per day which included internet (~20 euros) and breakfast for 2 (25 euros each). We declined but may be worth asking if you're spending time in the area.

We found the Renaissance Hotel

We found the Renaissance Hotel Brussels very good. The location was perfect for hopping onto the sightseeing hop-on hop off bus and wonderful restaurants very, very close by. We found the perfect convenient store just round the corner if you needed or wanted anything, rather than eating at the hotel or restaurant. The room was well presented and on discovering we were short of towels the friendly staff had some brought up just as I put the telephone down... brilliant service. The price was well worth it. I would recommend this hotel and will definately stay there again.

AC was noisy and asked to repair it. But they did not do so. Finnally I asked to change the room and they changed my room. The reaction was not so good.

Nice place!

Excellent location if you are spending time in the EU parliament area. It was quite a walk (20 min) to the Grand Place, but we walked everyday - it was a beautiful walk, but a little cold in the snow! The cost was an excellent deal compared to hotels in the Grand Place area. The hotel had excellent service and the rooms were great. Very nice, modern, had a refrig and coffee maker, and the front desk always had chocolates in a bowl at reception! They also let us check in early (around 12 noon) which was a great help to us, coming in from the US on a night flight. It was a very pleasant experience. We lacked nothing.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There are several small convenience shops close by (one within a block), that sell fruit and groceries. We bought a box of cereal, some milk and fruit and ate that for breakfast each morning in the hotel room and saved a lot of money. It was a big help having a refrig in the room. Also, all the chocolate shoppes give free samples everyday around Grand Place - Enjoy them!

Convenient Location

The hotel was offered at a great price and it made for a good home base while we explored the areas around the Royal Palace. We had a huge bucket of steamed mussels downtown for only $15 euros, plus Belgian waffles, beer and chocolate. Awesome! The location was near the train station and a bus stop that takes you to the airport for only 3 euros. The hotel staff was coordial. Hotel services were very expensive, however. Internet access was $15 euros for one hour! Breakfast was $18 euros. Rooms were nice, clean and quiet. Beds were comfortable, but when the reservation says king or queen, you get the queen and its misrepresentation to suggest otherwise because it costs more for the king bed. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler, whether traveling for business or pleasure.

Simply fantastic

We returned to Brussels for the last night of a seven day trip. We returned from Paris on a Tuesday afternoon. We were tired, hungry, and really wanted a room with a bath. The Renaissance Brussels Hotel was just the order. The lobby was beautiful, the front desk was helpful and offered us dark Belgium chocolate and coffee. And our room? It was fantastic -- roomy with a plush bed and crisp linens, a pant-press and a fabulous bath with deep soaking tub. We walked nearby for dinner at a very inventive restaurant called Staff. It was amazing and creative food. The Renaissance Brussels Hotel was without a doubt our best night's sleep on our trip. I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time...

Staff is a brilliant restaurant. Try the very inventive Caesar salad and shrimp and avocado plate. As good as anything I've had!
