One of Europe’s finest private luxury hotels

Hotel Le Plaza opened in 1930, close to the famous Théâtre de la Monnaie and the stock exchange. The hotel was reborn in 1996 as a modern luxury hotel, with opulent fabrics and stunning floral arrangements, while conserving its original features. The hotel, near the Grand Place and the Rue Neuve, provides 165 luxurious rooms, 25 suites, and prestigious, spacious function rooms in the heart of Brussels.

Highlights
  • Luxurious decor
  • Bar and restaurants
  • Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access (fees may apply)
Rooms

All rooms have the facilities expected of a four-star hotel, including air conditioning, private bathroom, phone, television, mini-bar, tea- and coffee-making equipment, and luxury toiletries. Heavy pleated curtains separate sleeping alcoves from sitting areas in the prestige rooms. Suites have huge luxury bathrooms. The enormous presidential suite provides a splendid view of Brussels, a butler, private elevator, dining room for eight, a luxurious office, and two separate bedrooms.

Features

A generous buffet breakfast in the Adolphe Max room, perhaps with a glass of champagne, offers a luxurious start to the day. Lunch or dinner menus in the Brasserie Estérel, a grand but cozy room, feature quality products personally selected by the chef. Guests can enjoy drinks in the bar, located in the former winter garden.

Guests can exercise in the hotel's fitness room or get down to business in the nine meeting rooms, which accommodate groups from 10 to 220. The Plaza Theatre, a listed historic monument, can host presentations for up to 800.

My New Choice in Brussels

The hotel & my room were beautiful, double windows to keep out noise, didn't use the A/C but it's portable so may be noisy. Location was great because I could take the train from the airport to Gare du Nord, walk 10 minutes to hotel on a safe wide street plus just around the corner from a tour bus, short walk to the central sights. Only things missing were a pamphlet with list of services (like where gym was); no hot water pot with cups so couldn't make my own coffee; no ironing board in room; Wi-Fi very expensive (although there are rates that would include free Wi-Fi), and they required an additiional hold on my credit card of 50 euros (app. $80) per night for incidentials even though I wanted no incidentials (I refused since it was pre-paid, but still had to argue to get it reduced to a total of 50 euros for 4 nights because I did not have that much extra available on my credit card). They must not be set up to refuse someone signing a bill to their room in the bar, for example, so they want some credit reserved for those charges & use of in-room bar.

AWFULLLLLLLLLLL!!!

The bed was uncomfortable and 20 years old.. not to mention.. they gave me two singles instead of a queen bed.. yes.. one was available.. I checked. The food made me sick to my stomach and they refused to take any of it off the bill.By the way.. 3 adult book stores on that street.. I'm not a prude, but this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. And they were out out of ketchup and chocolate ice cream. How do you run out of chocolate anything in Belgium.Someone [...]should get fired....NEVER EVER AGAIN..!!!!!!

Best of Times, Worst of Times

"It Was The Best of Times, It Was the Worst of Times". Hotel Le Plaza is a very attractive hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel is in the middle of several blocks of adult shops, and is a ten to fifteen minute walk from major attractions. If you will are traveling for business, or taking cabs everywhere, it will be fine. If you are looking to see the sights, and are less than intrepid, it may not be a good choice.

Couldn"t ask for a nicer room

The room was a large King on the 5th floor as requested. Extremely clean and well kept. Opened to the courtyard, very quiet and nicely appointed. Large bath, with everything you could need including robe and slippers. Easy to navigate the rest of Brussels...took the trains to Bruge and Amsterdam. Would return and recommend for the price.

great location, very nice hotel

very nice hotel. It's a little older but upkept quite well. Very soft beds, nice staff, great location to the major shopping part, the main square, and lots of great food. Close to the peeing statue and comic book muesum. Over all very nice stay, no problems.

Excellent hotel, excellent location, excellent price. The beds and duvets are soft and warm. Too bad they don't have wi-fi, otherwise it would've been perfect.

I enjoyed staying here in this

I enjoyed staying here in this very elegant hotel. For the price we paid, it was excellent value. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was kept very clean and was well maintained. We were close to the Gare du Nord station and only a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre/Grand Place. Very close to the City2 shopping area which was great for shopping and quick bites. There were very few minuses - internet rates in the room are expensive (EUR7 an hour) and the breakfast was pricey, if not included in your bill (EUR20 for a continental breakfast - we had breakfast out).
