Great location, but not the greatest for comfort

To get in, you have to go through the Hotel des Colonnies door (get buzzed in since you don't have your key yet#. On check-in they mentioned breakfast times, making me think breakfast is included, but then find out it's an additional 15 Euros when I went down to eat #though this is comparable to other restaurants in the area#. After getting your room at the front desk, you have to lift your bag over the ledge of the billiard hall #2 pool tables, no balls, cue sticks, or rack I could see#, and down over the ledge again to get to the Hotel Siri lobby #since their door is broken#. If you are unfortunate enough to need the elevator, there is a manual door to open, then automatic ones to wait for. The elevator is barely big enough for 2 people and their rollerbags. Get to the room, and it's barely big enough to hold the double bed. The bathroom is almost literally the size of a closet, with an alcove to a shower that has an entrance about a foot, maybe foot-and-a-half wide. I don't think an overweight person would make it in, even sideways, let alone have enough room to move around once inside the shower area - another closet. Water temp/pressure was good, they provide an all-in-one body wash/shampoo, so if you don't like that, bring your own. No fridge, no microwave, no coffee pot, no iron, no ironing board. Just a room and a TV, and it did have what appeared to be a safe jutting out the wall - I didn't use it. The main reason to go here is the location - just a block from the Rogier Metro and accessible using the Manhattan Place building corridor #nice in cold/hot weather#. Careful of all the construction in the area, though! At least that's how it was when I went #Dec 2014). A no-frills hotel in the middle of plenty of restaurants and shopping.

Go straight across the main highway by the Rogier metro, there is an alley full of shops and down the side streets are nightclubs, restaurants, and bars.

Good location, not good for the picky

Hotel staff mentioned when breakfast was, but not that it cost extra until they asked for a voucher I wasn't given when I went into the breakfast area. Breakfast was buffet style, powdered eggs, ham, bacon, cost 15 Euros but that wasn't too bad for the area. Nice jellies. The front door is under repair (and much of the area around the hotel was also under construction), so you go through the Hotel des Colonnies to get in - which requires a card key or get buzzed in after pressing a button a few times. So to get to the Hotel Siri side, you have to pull your bags up a ledge where there's a billiard hall (2 tables), then back down on the other side to the elevator. Then you open the door manually and wait for the inner, automatic door. Inside is barely enough room for 2 people and 2 roller bags. Then the room: barely big enough for a double bed. The bathroom is the size of a closet, and to get to the shower from the bathroom, you had to go through an opening that was only about a foot across. So all of this meant the hotel was very challenging to enjoy except for the nice distance (about a block) from the Rogier metro. It could be very upsetting for anyone with a lot of luggage or not much arm strength to lift them up ledges, street curb, etc.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Plenty of restaurants, shopping, couple of night clubs across the main highway, if you walk straight down the streets that are perpendicular to it.

Great for Budget

Hotel was clean and comfortable enough for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful and it is an easy walk to tourist areas. There is not a lot of good food around but it is only a ten minute walk to good restaurants. It can be quite loud at night - sound carries up easily and the shopping street near by as well as from the traffic.

A brilliant stay in the financial district of Brussels

We stayed at Siru as we were on a business trip where the training took place in Waterloo. The staff at Siru are most friendly and helped us locate the train station (which was 5 minutes away) and they even told us how much it would cost to go Waterloo and which train we would have to catch. Additionally, we asked for an Iron and a Travel adapter and this was given at no extra cost (I have had to pay for this in the past). The hotel is very clean and simple but has excellent service. I was surprised to find an LCD TV when i entered my room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has a short stay in Brussels.

Quiet, Clean, and Convenient

Hotel Siru is a nice value hotel that is both clean and safe, with a 24h guardian at the front desk and key card access to all the floors. It is located at Place Rogier, which is in the heart of the business district and on top of a very convenient metro station. It is not inside the touristy old town, but that area is a 15 minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are modest but well-lit, and the beds are very comfortable. My room had a flat screen TV and a mini-fridge, which helped me economize. Each room has its own bathroom and shower, and the hot water functions well. It is a very good budget hotel. I wouldn't call it romantic or luxurious (at least not for the least expensive rooms), but it is very convenient, clean, and comfortable.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a bustling shopping street called "New Street" just across the square from Hotel Siru. It is near the City2 Shopping mall. That street will lead you to Old Town also.
