Great Stay!!!

My adult daughter and I came for a getaway. The hotel is typically what you would expect at a Hilton hotel. The staff were ... very attentive and friendly. Service was quick and courteous. My daughter LOVED the "Action Line" button on the phone that provided immediate response to ones every whim! Our room/bathroom was large and spotless. The breakfast buffet included with our room was great. Lots of elevators made our room on the 14th floor easy to come and go from. It is about a 10" walk from the old city section and the area it is located in is typical for a large metropolis (dirty, loud, heavy traffic). The hotel and rooms are well insulated from the noise so it was not a problem. The rear of the hotel has lovely gardens and nice views of the old city. The location allows for a short taxi ride to/from the Eurorail and other trains. Would definitely stay here again.

Try Kokob Restaurant (www.kokob.be). It is an Ethiopian restaurant in the old city. Unbelievably GREAT food and a truly unique experience! The staff is FABULOUS and will help you order something you will love! My daughter and I are vegetarians and had one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The table next to us was enjoying a meat eater's delight and ooing and aahing, so their's must have been pretty good too! Make reservations because you will wait hours otherwise. I don't know how everyone knows about this place, but it is packed early and stays busy! It is very moderately priced as well. I might plan another visit to Brussels just to hit this place again! Great location!

The Hilton was a very comfortable, centrally located, hotel. We were able to get a great rate on the room too. The one ... negative is that the hotel had supposedly been renovated, but as far as we could see the room were at least 10 years old (rusty facets, plaster chipping in the bathroom. Subtle stuff). The room was spacious and comfortable, but definitely not renovated. We brought the issue up to the front desk, and they sort of laughed about it-- were incredulous that someone was claiming the hotel had just been renovated. They said it had been at least 4 years since the renovations.
