Nice amenities, non-optimal location
Hotel Bloom is a large, modern hotel that clearly caters toward business travelers and large groups. Compared to other hotels I saw and stayed at in Europe it was much more impersonal. The hotel rates were inexpensive and came with many amenities - bottled water in the rooms and apples and bananas in the gym/at the front desk. The hotel has an interesting theme with unique wall murals in each room along with information about the artist. The hotel bar and restaurant is very over-priced and I would not recommend them. Oddly, they have a live DJ on some of the nights, but don't actually supply any room for dancing. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the city center and most of the things that tourists would be interested in. The "free wireless" had a 60 MB limit that was supposed to be per day, but seemed to rather be more of a per device limit. After I reached the limit on my second day there I waited roughly a full day before trying to get internet again - and still failed. There is a small convenience/grocery store across the street from the hotel where you can pick up items you might need for far less expensive than the hotel's grab and go location. Final bit of odd trivia: All the hotel staff are given nicknames that are used while they are working and have some relation to the hotel's "bloom" theme.

Nice surprise
Pleasantly surprised by the room size and its design. The art on the wall was not annoying at all as I was afraid it would be and the room's design so quite modern.

Hip with great food.
Very cool decor in lobby and rooms. Every thing was good BUT if you are sensitive to noise, try to get a room facing away from street. I declined the breakfast for 25 Euro (!) but dined at the bar twice and the food was a big positive surprise both for quality and value.

Nice rooms, rude staff
After booking a room with 2 beds, They put us in a room with one queen bed and refused to change our room. They also were not helpful when we asked for an extra blanket so my friend and I could have our own since we now had to share a bed. The front desk staff was not very helpful when asking about the city. The hotel advertises that it has free wireless internet when you only get a small amount of time on the internet for free.

lovely and friendly hotel with
lovely and friendly hotel with large airy rooms and comfortable furniture. Very supportive hotel staff, only problem encountered was lack of bellboy service so luggage must be carried in from taxi by yourself, as well as to the room. very convenient 5 minute walk to Gare du Nord. it would be nice if a bedboard could be available, especially for longer stays.

not too good
The hotel was perfectly located for the work I was doing, and the room was nice, but the service was a disaster. Phone call information from the people I was meeting came too late and I missed meetings. Even when I went to the desk they did not take the time to properly do this job. They also did not provide a wake up call - and due to the time difference I slept through the early morning and my presentation had to be rescheduled. When I confronted them several times they finally offered free breakfast for two days but the damage was done. The entire reason I came to Brussels was to meet someone and that did not happen because of the small window which was missed. For two days I asked to speak to a manager but was told they would contact me - never happened. I ate in Moods their restaurant and got a very good sandwich the first night - my wife and I ordered it again two days later and got something half the size....and service in the restaurant was average at best. My wife and I are very upbeat and experienced travelers - for service - this was the worst hotel, which pretended to be business class, I have ever been in.

Hotel Bloom was a Great choice for us. Located Close to North Main Train Station and Botanical Gardens Station. Easy to get to by train and foot. Close to main Shopping District and walking distance to Grand Place and major Central District. Hotel Staff average. Smoods Bar Very Cool and nice Decor, but Bar Staff Not Nice. Hotel Restaurant only open for breakfast. Other Restaurants and stuff walking distance. Would Stay here again for sure!

Long walk from hotel
Eat at "Chez Leon" near Grand Place. Awesome Food! Nice Staff that Spoke English. Mussels, Meat, Pasta, Vegis, Local fare, Average Prices. Established 1893. Was open late comparred to most other restaurants that close around 8pm. Was crowded when we went with locals and travelers alike.
