Beautiful, Clean, Convenient, Affordable.

After reading the reviews, I was prepared to contact the hotel to receive my passcodes to enter the building, you will not receive them if you book through here, unless you contact them directly. I simply emailed them and asked for the codes, and they emailed me back within a couple days. I did have to supply a credit card number, and beware, their email might show up in your junk mail filter. The room was fantastic. We got the Luxury room, which was huge, had a bed area, and a separate sitting area with couch, chair, coffee table and desk. A small hallway with a closet which housed a microwave and fridge, plates, cups and sliverware for 2, led to a clean, modern bathroom. Your room key needs to be in the key holder on the wall next to the door in order for your lights to work, but this is convenient, because then you always know where your key is. You can also wave your room key on the keypad at front entrance of the building to open the front door instead of entering the passcode every time you need to get in. Maid service gives you fresh towels and checks on your supplies during the week, I don't think they work on the weekends, so ask for extra supplies if you're low on Friday. We arrived at 9am and called to ask if we could leave our bags and walk around, they ended up coming and giving us our room key. Great service, you just have to call. There was never anyone at the front desk area just to sit there and wait for questions. Easy walk to Grand Place, but avoid the restaurants that beg you to eat at their establishments along the way. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and any other hotel like it in other cities!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

look up Le Pre Sale, I went based on another reviewer's suggestion, and the food was TERRIFIC. Buy Belgian beer for your fridge at Delhaize or Carrefour mini markets, it is much cheaper. There is a corner store that sells beer right next to the hotel, but he tried to charge us extra while telling us he was giving us a discount. Slimy.

Access problems

The apartment was chic, well equipped and good value for money and the location superb BUT we arrived about 11:00 on a Friday hoping to drop our bags off before check-in. We couldn't raise anyone to let us in. Humping our bags around, we returned at 16:00 - still no one around. We had to use a mobile at roaming rates to ring an emergency number shown on the door: they told us the combination to gain entry and we had to hold on while they told us where to find the key, and the combination to retrieve that, and had to find our own way to the room with our luggage. The apartment itself was very good - which is just as well because between then and when we left on Sunday we never managed to find a single member of staff! (The apartment was not serviced). If you don't mind that hassle, then it really is great value for a weekend.

A great find if you do your pre-work

This hotel was great, had a kichen, living room, bedroom arrangement. Very comfortable. The Deal is that there's no staff onsite anytime. I cleaning crew turns rooms over and puts keys in lock boxes. You'll need a code to get in the front door. And anoher code to get your key. If you contact the reservations staff through email and supply your credit card info (for additional fees if you accrue any, not for your booking payment) they will send you the codes via email and you'll be set. If you want early check in request it in the email and they'll try to meet your needs. We had a great experience!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Tourist info station less than two blocks away. Central train station about 4 blocks. Delhaize and carrefour (grocery stores) are just a short walk also if you want to buy breakfast food and save a lot on breakfast $.

Not your average hotel

Guests who book this hotel should know: 1) There is no on-site staff; 2) they will need to have a code to enter the building, which their booking service may or may not have thought to give them (ours didn't); 3) they will need another code to obtain their key from the lockbox in the deserted lobby; and 4) they better not need an extra roll of toilet paper, or a mop to pick up a spill, or an extra key so multiple guests can go on separate ventures, because THERE IS NO ON-SITE STAFF. [...]Other complaints include the fact that the so-called apartment (which we booked in part so we could have a little privacy from our daughter, who was traveling with us) had only a single room, without so much as a screen separating our sleeping area from hers. Finally, the previous occupant seems to have been a tomcat who marked his territory with some enthusiasm. The management had tried to clean this up, to judge by the veneer of room freshener overlaying the odor, but not successfully. The location was wonderful, but that's really about the only good thing we can say about the place.[...]

Very Poor Service

Nice room in central location but the abominably poor service makes it a place to avoid. There are NO on site personnel other than a maid who comes to clean a few hours each weekday. You need a code in order to enter the building to register. That was not sent to me. The ordered coffee did not arrive. The requested soap (a second bar after three days!) was not supplied. There is no room cleaning on weekends. Very difficult to get through to hotel operator (who is off site) and then your issue is ignored. Internet connection is very expensive.

A wonderful spacious modern apartment

A wonderful spacious modern apartment poorly managed. When we arrived at the door we found we should have had a code given in our booking confirmation to get in. We didn't and relied on another guest. Once inside we used a listed code to access our key box- it didn't work. We had to phone. Then when we did get into the box the envelope was empty! Another call was necessary. We had a huge attractive deck but the door was broken and we couldn't get out there. We reported this and five days later as we were departing someone came to inspect it. There was supposed to be a receptionist from eleven a.m. This is a silly time as tourists want to be out before that. On the occasion we were still there no one appeared. Such superb accommodation in a wonderful location but very poor management.

I would like to remmend this hotel

I would like to remmend this hotel for its ideal location, cleanes and pricing. The rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel is renoved at the beginning of 2010. Only disadvantage is that there is not always (outside working hours) personnel present at the reception to solve problems. I think it is usual in hotels of this type. I ordered from the reception a taxi for the morning but it did not appeared for some unknown reason. I informed the occasion to the personnel and next day the taxi came just as ordered.

Great Space if you can get Inside

We went to Brussels (1st time) for 2 nights to see all we could, including Bruges. We arrived on Sunday at the check-in time we were given, 4:00PM. The door to the B-aparhotel was locked and nobody was in the lobby. [...] Another guest arrived a few minutes later and he was nice enough to let us into the building. I asked where the check-in person was and he said that there is no staff available on Sunday. We told him our predicament (ie, no phone since we're from the US) and he called the emergency number and got access to our room card thank goodness. Apparently I was supposed to get some kind of door code and instructions on how to get my room card. I never got them and the other guest said that he had the same experience, having used an on-line agent as well. This is not a Hotel, in spite of the name. There is little or no staff available, even during the week. If you need help, it is not available.

Excellent.

The admin procedure could be better. In order to access the hotel, you need a code. This is only provided once the hotel management has your credit card, to cover additional charges such as internet access. Alas, [...] does not forward this to the hotel. I met several people who had booked through other agencies with the same result. You need to phone your agency before you visit or contact the hotel directly.
