Handy to the Diamond District of Antwerp
As we exited the Antwerp train station to look for a cab, the driver told us we could easily walk to our hotel in a few minutes and declined to take us. We spent the next half-hour hauling luggage while looking for the hotel, which no one seemed
to know about. The hotel is handy to the diamond district but a long ways (over a mile) from the historic part of the city. Although the hotel did offer a continental breakfast, we had to walk five or six blocks to find a full-service restaurant for dinner. The better restaurants are in the historic area, which is even further. Our first room faced a noisy street. The hotel moved us the next morning due to a maintenance problem in the room above us. That room faced an alley which was significantly quieter. The staff was helpful and courteous. The hotel does face a nice park, but we didn't have time to check it out.
