Most Depressing Room in Years

To Start, the hotel is in a great location. It's directly across from the Main Train station. I have the pleasure/curse of staying in hotels about 300 nights a year, so I have seen a few lately, and this was the most depressing room I have stayed in in well over a year. walking to the room was like walking into a dungeon, the hallway got smaller and small as went down a few stairs and got closer to the room. once inside the first thing I noticed is how small the room is, this is fine, since many rooms in Europe tend to be smaller than their counterparts in the US. the bigger issue was the light in the room. there was a window, however it was very high up on the wall. I am 188 tall, (6'2) and I could barley reach the handle to open the window. The window was frosted glass, so only enough light came through to see if it was day or night. with the window open you could see why it was frosted, there are other windows only a few feet from this one, and all facing each other. I saw no sign of air circulation in the room other than this window, so it could be an issue for most shorter people. Personally, I only use rooms for sleeping in spend as much time as I can away from the hotel, so it was alright in the end. The rest of the room was very basic. I got the chance to look in a few other rooms as I left the hotel and the cleaning staff was hard at work. most of the rooms I walked past looked like they had normal light and would be very nice. My suggestion is that if you stay in this hotel and happen to get a bad room, ask to change, and I hope for your sake there is something nicer they can offer you.

Super!

Asked for and received an inside room for the night. Hotel is across from train station and easy access makes this a great overnight stay. Breakfast included in the price was great. Room clean, bed comfy gets my vote. Will book again.

Central location!

Location is excellent and the rooms are nice but average. The hallway is rather dark and getting to the rooms is an adventure to say the least. Reception staff are excellent and very friendly. Felt right at home as there were lots of English people there!!

Perfect location

The hotel is right across the street from Central station, so it is very easy to find. The bus to the airport also stops right in front of the hotel making getting home that much easier. It was a bit of a walk to the historic sights but not bad. The hotel itself was very nice. Very helpful staff and comfortable rooms.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you have a taste for wonderful beer, there is a pub just down the street called Bier Central. They have over 300 different beers to choose from. It's like heaven.

Did barely the job

I was there only for 1 night. If staff was OK, the single-bed room for 1 person was small. You have to slalom between main door, sink and bed to go on the other side of the room. I believe I got unlucky with neighbors talking all night long. Internet is extra or accessible to downstairs computers, not convenient. Breakfast is pricey, better use the train station Starbuck across the plaza. Conveniently located by Central train station. Overall, could be a bit more classy at that price.

Bit of a spinal tap maze to find room

Good bits: Clean, excellent central location and just across the road from the central railway station and the service was good. Not so good bits: Our room located on the second floor involved a long walk through narrow corridors followed by stairs and then more corridors and then around another corner and some more corners, more corridors and up more dark stairs...yes we were half expecting a prize for completing this maze or for finding the room!! After completing the maze we found a compact room facing an inner courtyard that was adequately furnished (no complimentary kettle/tea/coffee) and the sliding door to the very small bathroom made a very loud squeaking noise (not good late at night). A request for a better room unfortunately didn't result in an upgrade. Apart from that overall it was ok, but if you're expecting the standards of the bigger chains then this falls below them. No doubt a bigger room in this hotel with a balcony would provide a different experience.

Convienient location and clean hotel

A very easy hotel to use and it had a good deal on [...]. Near the station - simple to drop bags on arrival and then easy to leave them locked up at the end of the stay.

Great central location

We were almost sad we were only staying 1 night in Antwerp, but we were in town for a concert and moving on to another city the next day. I'd highly recommend the Leonardo. Fantastic, clean, comfortable room, super-friendly English speaking staff and literally across the road from the beautiful central station. And local public transport is just around the corner. If you're travelling by train to Antwerp, you couldn't ask for a more convenient location. The ONLY thing that was missing was free internet access. Access was available, but you had to pay for it. It wasn't worth it for a one night stay. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on that.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Plenty of shops in the local area and a supermarket a 5 minute walk away, which is very handy.
