Not a great hotel for Barbados
We love Barbados and we were not able to stay in our hotel on another part of the island for our entire stay so we booked at Savannah for 2 nights. The beaches were nice, but not the ones in front of the hotel (they were rocky). The hotel was not in great condition and the staff at the main desk was rude. When we arrived in our room there were towels on the floor, the shower did not work, and the place seemed a bit run down. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked. I was upset at [...]b/c I thought we we booked a ocean view room but the ocean was nowhere in site. Definately not worth $250 per night.

Get going
Barbados
Hotel location was good in terms of getting around but the beach was unaccessable due to it's extreme rocky shoreline. I even injured my foot in my flipflops. Transportation & getting around was easy. The bathrooms need upgrading. The staff was what my mother used to say, "Nice-Nasty." I found that while being nasty they kept a smile at the time.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Food was expensive and this was my 3rd trip to Barbados. My travel thoughout the Carribean is extensive, but the prices of food was excessive. Other product were not that costly. We stayed in Hasting, Christ Church and we travelled to St James parish. Tourist tended to walk but it appeared to be dangerous as the little sidewalks were almost non existent, cracked or just missing in places. Cars travel at high speeds around curves and driving is on the left so you must remember to look both ways.

Bookedup
The Savannah, Hastings, Christ Church
I stayed for 11 nights and also payed for an upgrade. I requested one hour extended check-out time the day we left. They wanted to charge me extra. I checked out at 12:00 at the regular time.

Savannah -- good hotel, a little pricey
Stayed here while waiting for our cruise departure. Very good hotel, restaurant wasn't the greatest, but there are alternatives (39 steps, Brown Sugar) within easy walking distance.

Don't miss dining at Brown Sugar, a short walk towards town (past the army base and race track). Hotel desk can make a reservation for you. Great food and atmosphere,

Savannah 02/09
This is a very nice hotel. The room is clean and roomy. The grounds are very nice and the beach is close by although it is not a good swimming beach. The food in the restaurant is average and expensive. Although the staff is not friendly they do cater to your needs.

Great place!
The rooms are great - try to get one with a balcony that faces the beach. It's in a pretty good location as far as places nearby, but the beach is nice in front and places like Accra and Oistin's aren't too far of a drive.

The restaurant next door is called 39 Steps and is better than the one at the Hotel. Also, there is a cafe next door The Coffee Bean, that has great coffee and pastries.

My review of The Savannah
The Savannah Hotel Christ Church,Barbados prove to be a very relaxing experience. The staff was very courteous at all times. The menu was well diversified whether eating at the pool bar or formal dining area. It's close proximity to downtown area is a big plus for either dining or shopping. The room was very stylish (Victorian) and comfortable. The adjoining balcony was comfortable, providing very nice views of hotel quarters & the beach. The beach itself was very accessible; unlike what stated in a review I read prior to my visit. I would not hesitate to return there again, upon a return visit.
