Perfect Escape

After a very stressful few months, The Crane was a perfect escape to relax and recharge. The suite with the plunge pool and ocean view was beautiful. The staff was nice and very helpful. There was no one there pressuring you to purchase timeshares, properties, or souvenirs. There was no need to leave the property; there is variety of restaurants on the property; food was good and prices are very reasonable. The beach is just a few steps away (elevator down)...sadly it was broken during my trip, however, I took the walk down to the beach as a balance for all the eating and drinking I was doing. If you want to relax without the running around, without the noise; this is definitely the place to escape.

The Crane

Awesome beach, great views of ocean from cliff-top. Room was amazing....way more space than actually needed. Great size washroom as well. The jets stopped working on tub while we were there...and we didn't even mention...cause wasn't a big deal to us....staff showed up one day to fix it...even though we didn't call it in. All staff are super friendly....the welcome Rum Punch packs a punch.

Go to Oistins on the Friday. Hotel arranges transportation. Can probably buy better things there than the trip to Bridgetown (I would skip that next time)...but for sure would do Oistins again.

Stunning location!!

I had a lovely experience at The Crane. They were very accommodating when the elevator broke in my building and moved me and sent a Birthday dessert to my room! The location/beach is gorgeous...I'm a beach goer and this is at the top of my list! Only complaint, is it is an older facility and the elevators were always breaking (4 flights of stairs up from the beach w/ knee issues, not acceptable!) And there were never towels! I sat at the beach for 2 hours before they had more towels and constantly had to call for towels in my room? That's a basic necessity of a hotel, in my opinion. Overall, a great place to stay w/ good restaurants!

The Crane just gets better

A truly relaxing holiday, the Crane is all about elegance, sophistication and taking it easy, The location of this hotel is on a cliff top overlooking Crane Beach, with its Pink sand and turquoise sea, it is fabulous. The waves are not for the faint hearted and they can pick you up and toss you around, absolute great fun, one of the reasons why I come here. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are enormous, the bathrooms are huge and all is spotless. There restaurants are good but very expensive and the Crane is situated a good distance from any night life. If you want to party, then stay on the West Coast, if you`re exhausted and just want to chill out then go to the Crane. There are areas that need improving, that is the large pool area, mainly the pools themselves, they need to be emptied and be relined as they are looking tired and worn. But overall a great place to stay. A car hire is a must to get out and about, to really see the Island.

Perfect Peace & Quiet

The setting for this holiday is just amazing, over looking the beautiful Crane Beach. The staff at the hotel were so helpful & friendly whatever their position or your enquiry. We stayed in one of the "Residences in the park" and had our own garden & plunge pool which was perfect. We went on several trips booked at the hotel including a Jeep Safari, trip on a Catamaran where we swam with turtles, saw loads of tropical fishes and even saw a pod of whales. We also did the "Harrison Caves" & wildlife Park all of which were fabulous giving us the opportunity to see much of the Island. The restaurants at the hotel were first class and we enjoyed every meal we had. If you like Japanese food then a visit (or 2 or 3 ) to "The Zen" is a must! Perhaps the only "downside" of the whole holiday was the distance from the hotel to any other night life (if you wanted to go elsewhere) as it was a journey of about half an hour to go either into Bridgetown or the West Coast, as there was not a lot of evening entertainment at the hotel. Overall the experience was memorable and we would love to go back.

Nice resort

Experience was ok,accommodation overpriced,we paid an extra £2000 just to upgrade our room, grounds are very nice and looked after, staff very friendly apart from reservation agent who were not helpful.we paid for bed&breakfast and they wouldn't acknowledge breakfast for the 1st 10days after that they allowed breakfast for the last 4 days, very petty and annoying considering the money we spent Room was not very clean, although cleaned every day,the kitchen floor, bottom of the fridge/dishwasher very dirty, plug hole areas in basins dirty, exposed wiring to the washing machine(photos available)

A great break

A wonderful place with universally friendly staff. We had an exceptional room and enjoyed some excellent meals. The pools and the beach were first class. The location is very remote, which is fine (and makes it very peaceful) but people need to take into account that it's 30 minutes by cab to Bridgetown. Strongly recommended.

Amazing Location, poor service!!!!

Beautiful location but service is horrible. This hotel has so much potential and for a 4 star resort it lacks a lot to have achieved a 4 star rating. Let's start with why I'm so unhappy. On the first day when I arrived my room wasn't ready during the check in time. I had to wait almost 3 hours for my room. My wife and I had to sit in the lobby of the hotel which is beautiful but it isn't airconditioned and it was very warm, humid and uncomfortable. The girl working the desk at the check-in counter wasn't very friendly or pleasant either. Once we got to our room there were no towels available. I called up room service to request towels several times and it took the hotel almost 4 hours to deliver some towels to our room. The shower door wouldn't close shut and water would leak out on the floor all the time. The light switch in the bathroom wasn't working properly and finally on our 5th day at the resort engineering services managed to fix it properly. The first day instead of starting my long awaited vacation calmly and properly was mired with aggravation, frustration and sitting around and waiting for everything to be right from the moment I arrived till almost bed time. The hotel also apparently fumigates the premises with a smoke machine to prevent mosquitoes every Tuesday and Friday. This acrid smoke filled up our entire room with thick choking smoke that the resort claims is harmless to people. If you plan on going to the pool or the beach make sure you get there early when they open up at 8:30 am because they apparently only have 100 towels for over 300 guests. Why would a tropical resort where people go to relax and swim in the ocean or pool side need more than 100 towels for over 300 guests??? Plus their 3 main pool next to the Carriage House were dirty and out of commission and guests could not use them till our 3rd to last day in the resort. The other issue I have with this beautiful resort is that I had in my plan daily complimentary breakfast included, however I was not told that on my last two days breakfast would not be free and I had to pay over $20 US per person for the same breakfast I was getting free at the buffet except on the days I was charged to eat what was supposed to be free I couldn't eat buffet style it was ala carte only and it wasn't much to fill me up and trust me I'm a very fit person. I complained to hotel management a few times very politely and told what I'm not happy with and rather than do the right thing and somehow make up for all the misery, management only came up with one horrid excuse after another as to why nothing on the resort was functioning right. Hotel made me feel and many other guests that I have spoken to at the resort agreed that they make you feel as if it's your fault that all these problems are occuring. Also finally the resort was advertised as for adults only and the place was teaming with tons of screaming children. I don't have a problem with children. However, if your advertisment states "Adults Only" then stick to that motto. I would only recommend this hotel for it's sheer beauty and location, but as far as service and professionalism goes all I can say is take your business elsewhere!!!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Eat dinner and lunch at L'Azure at the hotel. Their food is delicious and fresh. Josee is the Maitre D and Peter is the manager at the restaurant and are by far the most pleasant and professional people in the entire resort. Always smiling and always welcoming.
