All-suite resort on white sand beaches
Divi Southwinds Beach Resort, located on the south coast of Barbados, sits on Dover Beach and along the St Lawrence Gap, known for lively nightlife, dining, and open-air shopping. Guests enjoy beautiful wide, sandy beaches -- made extra inviting by gentle currents. A cobbled stone street running through the resort leads to fine island dining and nightlife.

The staff was warm and friendly. The hotel is in a great location. The beach was awesome. And if you don't want to be bothered with cleaning off sand the pool is great too. The 2 hotel restaurants were reasonable and the food was good. There is a mini mart on site. Local phone calls are not free. Wi-fi is available for an additional charge. Laundry facilities are available on site. The hotel is close to the airport. The hotel grounds and landscaping are beautiful. There is 24 hr around the clock security so you feel safe.

You get what you pay for...
Not a fancy hotel but we didn't pay for a fancy hotel. AS others have said--its in a bit sad shape. But if you're not picky about appearances, it will do. The location is perfect with the beach near by and it was fun to walk into St. Lawrence Gap every night. It helped tremendously to have a kitchen as all of the restaurants seemed quite expensive. I would recommend this place for people who are not picky and just want a basic place to stay at.

No Frills
The SouthWinds Divi is in a great location the pool and the rooms could use some updates but they were clean. The Beach was very nice, good sand and surf decent for swimming and kids can jump around in the water. The beach bar was open during the day but closed at night and the restaurant bar wasn't open. The location in the St. Lawrence Gap was great you could walk to shopping to the left and all the restaurants were to the right. Over all a very laid back stay but don't expect to be wowed by the place, it is in a good safe location and has a clean bed for you to sleep in but don't expect too much activity,

For Cheap you can get fish take away on the grill. Go to the local Market get a few beers and go back to the beach with some ice for a cheap day. Also the rooms have stoves and fridge you can get some snacks and breakfast food and save yourself a few dollars.

Nice Trip
I enjoyed my stay. The only dark spot was the hot water in the shower. So overall the trip was nice and the resort was nice.

needs upgrade
Hotel is in need of some infrastructure updates. The air conditioner was loud and didnt cool the room.the chest of drawers was broken and old none of the drawers opened.The maid service dint clean the room for 3 straight days and then dint change towels or leave soap and shampoo.The front desk staff were friendly but the entire operation seems to be cutting too many corners to save money

very good liaccommodations for families.
The accommodations were great for families. We were out a lot but when we were in the room we enjoyed the atmosphere. We felt the shower could have been cleaner - visible mildew/grout - but generally, we had a great time.

Best location for the price!
The only problem was the fact that the safe was not functioning, and there wasn't anyone available to fix the problem. I had to end up using my friend's safe to lock up my valuables.

I would not take the Harbor Master Cruise. I would take the tiami cabana crusies, it is more fun, the staff was great and the food and drinks were delicious.

Hospitality from the Front Desk to Beach
Divi South Winds has a unique layout, its like its own little village away from the busy and vibrant night life of St lawrence Gap, but within a 3 minute stroll to all the late night action. The staff is very at ease as it provides sincere help and guidance in making sure you are comfortable. There's a great ambassador of the beach named [...], he's friendly as well as informative. Tell him Sheila said helloDivi beach is breathtaking the north end is cal and the south end is great for wave jumping local enjoy the sea here.

Yrmeät työntekijät! Ilmastointi ei pelanut, siivoojat jätti käymättä tai tulivat useasti klo. 7 jälkeen illalla! Hotellihuoneen keittiön varustetaso todella huono, ei ollut edes pullonavaajaa. Linnut söivät aamupalaa kanssamme hotellin aamiaisella, hyppivät pöydillä ja lautasilla! Hotellin taksikuskilla oli oma hintataso, aina kalliimpi kuin muilla taxikuskeilla!
