Absolutely beautiful resort great for relaxing

The Fairmont Royal, was a welcomed experience. My return flight had been delayed due to Hurricane Sandy so I had to book another resort and decided to stay on the western side of the island. I stayed for two nights and would have enjoyed staying longer. Great staff, food was a bit pricy but delicious so worth the cost. Beach was not crowded and the staff was eager to assist with chairs, towels, food and drinks if you desired. Non-motorized water sports and snorkeling with the sea turtles were included. I would say this is the quiet side of the island great for rest and relaxation. If you want the night life I would suggest renting a car and going to St. Lawrence. I look forward to revisiting Fairmont Royal in the future.

Attacked by birds

Don't stay here

Eating at the casual restaurant breakfast and lunch is a disaster. Always get your order wrong. Staff feed the birds. birds jump on table and eat your food. Instead of staff feeding the birds to keep around they should put up netting like Crystal Cove so you are not attacked by birds at meals and your food becomes unsanitary! Staff LAUGHED when birds threw our food on the floor and more arrived eating; did not offer replacement food!
