Hilton Barbados Good Time!
We stayed at the Hilton back in early December. As winter sets in in NJ Barbados really sounds Great! Hilton has a unique location we loved the man made reef; fantastic beach. We only had lunch at the resort as the location is great allowing you to visit many nearby restaurants for dinner. We enjoyed the Cliff but Champers was our favorite restaurant. We had lunch one day at Mama Mia fantastic fresh Italian. We enjoyed the clean swimming pools and comfortable padded beach chairs. We will return one day,we had a very relaxing time.

unimpressive overall
This was my third time in Barbados. I got to the hotel to find that they did not have the room I pre paid for available. Most hotels would upgrade you for the night, but they instead downgraded my room and wouldn't refund the difference in price! They did eventually move me to the executive suite I paid for the following night, but very poor customer service. Although the hotel grounds were beautiful, the hotel is not close to anything. You need a car to get around, or you'll have to pay high taxi prices as an alternative. The service was consistently slow with the exception of the lunch staff at the lighthouse restaurant. They were wonderful and attentive...the food was pricey and just 'average'. There are many great places to eat on the island so I would suggest checking them out as an alternative. The worst thing about the hotel was the room cleanliness. They did not change the sheets on the bed AT ALL during the entire 7 day stay! There was lipstick on the sheets (i do not wear or own lipstick) and even after requesting they change the sheet I came back in the evening to find the same sheets only they 'flipped them another way hoping I wouldn't notice perhaps? We had to ask for shampoo/conditioner etc daily because they wouldn't restock it...we had no toilet paper at one point! Overall, I would not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone.

Quality in a glorious location
The Hilton Barbados is a top quality resort. The rooms are very comfortable & well appointed, the location is superb with sea views on three sides and a wonderful private beach, facilities are excellent and the team at the Hilton are super friendly & helpful. You certainly pay for the privilege though. I understand food is expensive throughout the island, by UK standards, but a meal at the hotel is likely to set you back £75+ a head without a drink. And I still don't understand top hotels gouging over £10 a day for internet access, which is profiteering on a fixed asset with no marginal costs, especially when the rooms are top price anyway.

Long walk from hotel
It's expensive to eat EVERYWHERE in Barbados. Just increase your expected budget by at least 50%, or be prepared to spend lots more on your credit card than you imagined. Best value is the Boatyard, 15 minutes walk from the Hilton towards Bridgetown on Bay Street, on the beach just before you hit the city. Low fixed cost gets you beachside sun loungers all day and access to a relatively cheap lunch and drinks. Best quality/value is Lobster Alive, virtually next door to it. NOT cheap, but great quality and brilliant live jazz Sunday lunch & Tuesday evening (booking advised)

Honeymoon
My husband and I thought the hotel was very nice. The lobby and the pools were beautiful. Everything was very clean. The view from our room was amazing. The beach was breathtaking. The only complaint we had were the birds. We sat outside for breakfast the first day we were there and had a hard time eating our food. The birds would fly around us and jump on our table to get to our food.

Stayed for the week of Sept.19th. From the moment we got there the staff took care of us. They were courteous and friendly, the room was better than expected, the service was impeccable and the beach oh the beach was delicious. Also i would recommend a visit to Sunbury great house in St Phillips for breakfast or lunch and while you're there you can take a tour of the house.

Barbados Hilton
Excellent resort, staff was courteous, friendly and accomodating. Ocean accessiblity was small, but beach area was well maintained. When our pre-arranged service failed to arrive, hotel staff contacted taxi, and had us delivered to airport in time for our flight. With the exception of the taxi service, trip was great.

the hotel is in a great location, right on the beach. about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport. the staff was extremely friendly, patient, and effecient. the beach and pool area is extremely well kept. only complaint is that the food and in room minibar are overpriced. but the staff is knowledgeable about the island and will go to the extremes to make sure they have an answer for ur problems or questions. i would definitely stay herre again
