"The best value for the price"

The staff was wonderful. Didn't ask for much but the few times we did, the staff delivered in quick and friendly manner. I'm a vegan and they would look up restaurants that might accommodate my taste. The view from the room was very romantic. The beach loungers and the beach umbrellas are free. Ask for them when you get the towels. The water was crystal clear except when the surf was high (only one day out of eight). Sundays are packed by the local members and their family but it gives you a chance to meet the people who live there and find out more about the island.

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

There are regular buses and mini van buses that can get you to the "Gap" (most of the bars are there) or for $10 U.S you can easily get a taxi.

Enjoyed our stay

We were in Barbados last minute to take advantage of an unexpected week off work and visit with my folks who were on vacation there. We did minimal research for a hotel and were quite happy with the outcome. The hotel grounds are great - fantastic pool and beach area. The room was reasonable - very clean. The location is great - right on the main street so easy to catch a bus to Bridgetown or bars or restaurants and right across the street is a small food court and shopping area with a convenience store.

Happy at Accra

The hotel location was ideal - on the south coast within easy walking distance to many shops and necessities. The room was clean, and a good size. Curtains a little dated, but bright colored and cheerful. Pools, bars and beach access were perfect and certainly made our stay at Accra most enjoyable.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Taking the local busses or 'zed-R's is a little wild, but gets you anywhere on the island, just as fast and for a tenth of the cost.

Great Location

The resort is very nice and it's located on a beautiful beach. Great location, quick bus ride to Oistins, the Gap and Bridgetown. Very friendly staff excluding the front desk folks (for some unknown reason, desk staff is aloof while everyone else is overly nice). Drinks are very expensive here ($10US for dixie cup of rum punch). Buy a bottle of rum at the airport and some mixers and stock your fridge with beers like we did - saved a lot of money! Mattress was hard.

Bring your own snorkel gear. There is a reef closeby that offered great snorkeling. We even saw turtles there.

Good place

This hotel was recommended via a friend of a friend and we found a cheap rate and booked it and were not disappointed. We opted for a cheap room so ours didn't have the best view but the AC worked, had TV, fridge and safe and served its purpose. If you want a great view opt for a pool or ocean view room - it would have been nice for a drink at sunset. Breakfast was included in our already cheap room rate and was decent. The pool was pretty and clean. The wi-fi worked in the lobby. The location of this hotel is great - the beach it's on is beautiful, they will set up chairs and an umbrella for you. We never had any issues with not getting one but we went in off season (end of June). The hotel is only about a 25 minute walk from the Gap area with restaurants/bars and maybe a 15 minute taxi to Bridgetown. The only complaint about the hotel is the bar staff at the pool weren't the friendliest. Sometimes it was hard to get a drink even though I was the only one sitting at the pool bar! Not sure if it's the culture or what but that was a bit annoying. Otherwise we loved our stay in Barbados – if you go out towards the beach and head to your right there's a boardwalk that we didn't even notice until the last day, you can walk along it and there are more restaurants and bars that we never saw from the street.

Restuarants and Bars to the right of the hotel facing the beach - follow the boardwalk which you can't miss if you head towards the right and walk down the beach. We didn't see it until the last day though and no one told us!

Great,but

For the most part the Accra Beach Hotel was great, but on our first night a wedding party played very loud music on the pool patio until after midnight making sleep impossible. We called the front desk at 11:00 pm but go satisfaction. On the day we left another very large wedding was planned for that evening so we were glad we were leaving. Also, We arrived at the Hotel little after 3pm which was listed as check in time but our room was not available until almost 4:30pm.

Great Value, good location, friendly sta

great location, stores and food in walking distance, taxi stand right in front, beach is nice and clean, not as quite as some of the other beaches eg. surf and waves, clean rooms, hard spring mattresses, friendly staff, safe in room, check in can be a wait since a lot of air line crews use the Hotel as well, great value
