Father/ Adult Son Getaway

Check-in took forever, the girl kept saying were full capacity, but it didn't seem it to us. We had requested 18th floor or higher to avoid noise, and we got a 15th floor room. The next day, they moved us to 18th floor. We paid for Ocean view, but after scouting around, would have preferred harbor view, (you still get a view the ocean) and paid less. The room rug was soiled in a few places, the bathroom was very clean. There's not enough lights at the King bed to read by. My son's pull-out couch bed was fine. There's a great private beach, open only to the Cove residents that we loved. There are two pools, one that allows kids, which isn't great, and the other, called Cain at the Cove, adults only, is a Vegas-styled pool with loud, obnoxious music playing all day, which ruined it for us. Staff were all pleasant, and there were plenty of them stationed at various places throughout the resort, i liked that, it gave a solid sense of security. Price for hotel was high, but worth it, price at the restaurants was very high, also expected it, but i feel sorry for those with families.

Family Trip

This was our second visit to Paradise Island however our first stay at The Cove. The hotel is beautiful and we were upgrade to a fantastic corner suite. We had the ocean view on one side and could watch the Dolphins jumping on the other side. The food was great however pricey. The hotel staff were pleasant. There were plenty of pool and beach chairs however go early to secure your stop. The Cove location is a bit far from the Casino, Marina however you can walk or you can take a free shuttle to the other towers. We took a 2 hour city tour and got to see all the main sites. This trip was all about relaxing by the pool and ocean and of course the kids loved the wave pool. We felt safe walking the grounds at night. Great vacation.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a Starbucks in the Reef tower next to the Cove that serve breakfast sandwiches, fruit, coffee etc. The four of us ate breakfast for $40. The hotel buffet breakfast was $40 per person.

Great place, lousy customer service

Paradise Island of Bahamas is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, and I have visited many. Customer service though needs improvement.

Great hotel, food is overpriced

The hotel and the amenities of the waterpark and beach are outstanding. The resort boasts 21 restaurants, but all have way overpriced food. I will say that the food is superior to any "all inclusive" resort I've been to, but there is no reason to charge the ridiculous prices this place charges for food. I enjoyed my stay with my family, but would not likely return here because of the price gauging at the restaurants. I understand this is an island, but even Hawaii doesn't charge this much and the Bahamas are only a 1 hour boat trip from Miami.

Nice hotel but don't go there

There's no doubt the place is pretty, but you definitely get that feeling that every single element is designed specifically to vacuum money out of your pocket. A little like Disney in that regard. Leaves a bad taste that you are the sucker who happened to get marooned there and now you are going to get soaked. Beware. On the positive side, the finish and decor of the Cove are first rate, and the amenities at Atlantis are impressive. I just can't help thinking that if you want the spectacle, go to Las Vegas, book a five star hotel and save 75% of what you are going to end up paying here. Then use a small part of your savings and go to your local water park, the one here was fine but nothing spectacular and way too crowded. The lazy river was good but there were not many slides, and the ones that they do have are not even as good as your standard Wet and Wild. Rip-off examples: $42 bowl of spaghetti at Marina Village, $7 ice cream bar, $13 drinks. If you are hungy and make the mistake of eating three meals at the hotel in a day a family of four is going to spend at least $500. ON FOOD. Mains are $40 - 70. And the restaurants themselves are poor copies of good places. I've been to Nobu in NY and the Nobu tucked into the crummy casino does not deserve the name. The dining is a potemkin village. Save your money and skip Atlantis. Go to Vegas, and then go to a beach in Mexico. Even if you do it by private jet you'll still end up spending less and not being as badly fleeced.

Great. The room was spacious and with 3 teenage girls that was important. A short distance to the Atlantis pool attractions. The weather was not great - but the hotel could not help that. A great hotel!
