Awesome hotel and location

Great experience. Went with my husband and we had the best time. The property is amazing, water slides, lazy river, dolphin, sting rays, seals, you name it. The service is decent (not exceptional) but the views and overall experience was great. Just became my new favorite vacation spot over Mexico. Onsite food and drinks are very expensive. I read about this in advance but for some reason didn't pay attention. I'd definitely recommend taking a $5 cab to the food store to buy a case of water and snacks for your room (large bottles of water at the hotel cost $10). Everything is expensive, but its worth it - I say a big portion of the price is going to pay for the view and the amazing pools, slides, etc! Definitely you should go. We stayed at The Cove! Loved it. Much more upscale than the other properties and a very short walk to all of the fun stuff.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Ask your cab driver to take you to the local food store to buy a case of water and room snacks. A large bottle of water at the resort costs $10. This will save you a ton!

Everything is as good as you could ask for. The only negative if any is if you are a adult and you do not do the water thing there is not much to do at night.

Great place to go in the off season

With the water slides, pools, beach and lovely accommodations, this resort is among the best I have visited. I am a luxury traveler, mostly staying in Ritz Carltons and Four Seasons. the weather was 75-80 with a breeze. When the sun went behind the clouds it was cool, but we were still able to sit out in our bathing suits and go in the water. There were a lot of empty chairs around the pool, but it seemed to us that if it was full it would not be nearly as enjoyable. The restaurants were great. we had a delicious breakfast each day at the Cove. The adult pool at the Cove doesn't get a lot of sun, so we didn't choose to stay there much. Overall I would recommend with or without kids, but only before the high season. when full i was told there are lines everywhere for restaurants and the pools are chaos! They do nickel and dime you a bit, charging you a daily fee of $15 to use the gym and $20 a day for wireless internet. Look around online for deals where breakfast is included.
