amazing family vacation

we booked the deluxe ocean suite, but instead, they place us in the sapphire suite, which is wonderful, except was on first floor, so not much of an ocean view. the room itself was amazing, except for the view. Lisa, the night time maid, was very helpful. both our tv's were broken though. called the front desk multiple times, had two different service men come by on two different days, both times, said they would be back to fix them, yet never returned.

A great couple getaway

We live in Boston and needed a quick getaway to somewhere warm. We did not want to travel far and a friend suggested we look into Atlantis. We did and booked our stay at The Cove. Pulling up...we were greeted by some of the friendliest staff I have ever met. The grounds were beautiful! We checked in and proceeded to our room. The room views were amazing. The food was amazing during our stay as well. The downsides were...our room was "worn" and furniture had stains. To get two drinks at the "adult only" pool were $50.00 but if you went to other pool bar those same 2 drinks were half the price at $25.00. We would come back and stay again.

Great Vacation at The Cove...but think I prefer The Reef

My 6th time to Altantis, but first time at The Cove! I visited at the end of October. This is a great time because it is much less crowded and the weather is still great (plus I got a crazy deal of $260/night which is about 50 lower than normal). The room was amazing. I was on 18th floor and had an amazing view (although I think the water view from The Reef is better). It is almost as big as an apartment nice entryway, huge bathroom with 2 separate sinks, tub, shower, walk-in closet, separate sleep area, living area with couch and chairs. Nice balcony with 2 chairs/table. A little bit of wear, but still nice. The bed and bedding were awesome...I have never slept so well. Great bath products. For a 5 star hotel, the service isn't stellar. When I checked in there was a long line and the person checking me in was very indifferent. No one even bothered to see if I needed help with bags. I went to the concierge one day to arrange my transfer back to airport. The guy was texting on his phone and seemed I was bothering him. Instead of making the arrangements, he called Majestic and then thrust the phone into my hand like he was too bothered to deal with it himself. I thought the staff at The Reef were much, much better. My suggesting to Atlantis...fire everyone in the check-in/concierge and replace them with the staff from Starbucks! The staff at the Starbucks in the The Reef are amazing. Always remember your name and your drink and will do anything for you....now that's real customer service. I love all the water parks and ocean at Atlantis. This is all top notch and my favorite thing about visiting. I wasn't crazy about the "Cove only" pool....to me, it was just a lot of tacky people crowded into a very small pool. Too much of a tacky "scene." Not exclusive at all. I don't think this is a real draw to stay in The Cove. I do like that end of the resort with The Cove/The Reef because it is much less crowded and the beaches are the best. I think you are better off staying at The Reef. The rooms are as great...a little smaller...but all the amenities of The Cove with a better price. The Wifi worked for me...but $21.95 per day???!!! Really. I am used to all the add on fees (gratuity, maid fee, water fee, energy fee, taxes), but this is crazy.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

At The Cove - I'm not sure I'd recommend The Club Level. Not worth the money - food/snacks and not top shelf liquor left me feeling a bit ripped off. The higher level floors with their view are quite beautiful though.

Bahamas trip

The hotel itself is really nice and amenities are wonderful. There are several big aquariums on the hotel and also lots of water attractions for children and adults. I didn't like the fact of not having complimentary water in my room. Also Wi-Fi is only for extra charge, there is free WI-FI, honestly when I chose hotel like this I expect these simple things to be included in the price of stay.We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and for 2 of these days weather was not the best it was really windy and sea was closed. We wanted to walk across the beach but hotel personnel didn't allow us to do that even on our own risk. I don't like "pool style" vacation because I can use pool at my house and when I go to the vacation I want to enjoy sea. I didn't like the fact that I can't even walk on the beach because " it is dangerous". The food and everything else in the Atlantis is really expensive. You will spend around 35$ per person for breakfast in the buffet and 65$ per dinner in the buffet and this is not including alcohol beverages. If you want to go to any other place main courses start there from 70$ and more. Other choices - pizza on the street and burgers are chip and around 6-10$ per entree but I don't eat this kind of food. If you want to swim with th dolphins it will cost you from 150$ per hour. Anyway we had really nice experience in the hotel and I would recommend it. But in my opinion December is not the best time to go there and also be ready to spend money there.

Father/ Adult Son Getaway

Check-in took forever, the girl kept saying were full capacity, but it didn't seem it to us. We had requested 18th floor or higher to avoid noise, and we got a 15th floor room. The next day, they moved us to 18th floor. We paid for Ocean view, but after scouting around, would have preferred harbor view, (you still get a view the ocean) and paid less. The room rug was soiled in a few places, the bathroom was very clean. There's not enough lights at the King bed to read by. My son's pull-out couch bed was fine. There's a great private beach, open only to the Cove residents that we loved. There are two pools, one that allows kids, which isn't great, and the other, called Cain at the Cove, adults only, is a Vegas-styled pool with loud, obnoxious music playing all day, which ruined it for us. Staff were all pleasant, and there were plenty of them stationed at various places throughout the resort, i liked that, it gave a solid sense of security. Price for hotel was high, but worth it, price at the restaurants was very high, also expected it, but i feel sorry for those with families.
