Very Relaxing Resort

The Paradise Island RIU is literally next door to the Atlantis Resort, on one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been to. It is a very comfortably staffed(all were very friendly and accomodating) We weren't happy with the original room assignment, as the hotel's a/c units were rather noisy and right under our balcony but they were very quick to move us to one we found more comfortable, actually a suite with an even more spectacular view of the beach. The food was very fresh and presented nicely in the buffet dining room. There are also 3 theme restaurants of which we tried one (must be reserved a day in advance) and that meal was truly exceptional, both for the quality of food and service. The sauna and jacuzzi located in their Spa are available(& included) for all guests, which is a very nice feature not often found. We tried their Couples massage, as well as deep tissue massage, very relaxing (and de-stressing). There was also entertainment offered at the RIU every evening. Great value, only real problem was very soft beds. We will probably go back!

Excellent service

The food at the RIU is excellent there are three specialty dinning options. Remember to make your dinner reservations the night before between 5-6pm. There are two seating times for the specialty restaurants. The evening buffet does not require reservations and is a very good dinning option with many choices and excellent service. The rooms are getting a little old, but still clean, comfortable, well maintained and large. The rest of the Hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. The beach is beautiful. There are plenty of hotel supplied chairs but the beach umbrellas are rented from local vendor for $25 per day.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

The RIU is next door to the Atlantis so if you do not care for the entertainment at the hotel the Atlantis offers, movies, dancing, shopping and of course a casino. The water taxis are just on the other side of the Atlantis to take you to downtown Nassau to shopping and the straw market.

Relaxing Vacation Getaway

We stayed at RIU Paradise Resort for 6 nights (last week of July 2009). This was our first experience staying in an all-incliusive resort and was completely worth it especially in Bahamas. RIU is conveniently located right by one of the finest beaches with fine white sand and turquoise clear water with calm waves making in ideal and fairly safe for swimming and even snorkeling in 4-5 ft deep shallow waters close to shore. RIU All inclusive resort offered a fine choice for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks menu with a cheerful staff. RIU might be renovating their facility later this year. That would make it a better place. RIU also conducted a daily entertainment program making it fun for couples and families with kids.

Ferry accessible via next door Atlantis resort is a economical way to access Nassau downtown and Straw Market ($3 one way one person) Taxi fare from/to air-port 32$ one-way for 2 persons. Marine acquarium located in Atlantis resort can be viewed without buying the expensive $35 per person ticket.

Fantastic family getaway

Great location, great service, and great food! The hotel was superb, and the hotel staff were excellent, helpful and very polite. ... add heaters to keep the pool warmer, and you've got a *6*-Star resort! The Japanese restaurant menu needs some more work, however.

Great Holiday for Parents without kids!

My Wife an I travelled together with her Brother and his wife....for 4 days 3 nights....without the kids (they were with their grandparents - first time all the kids are 5 and under). I was a great mini vacation. Paradise Island is very well kept and the yacht area around atlantis is nice to walk around. It's worth waking up at 8 am to book for the restaurants - they're pretty good. Make sure you also get a good spot at the pool - but that's not hard. A mini trip to the straw market is fun. Make sure you have lots of sunscreen and sunglasses. They only thing I wish I brought was a docking speaker for my iphone because there's no mush stations on the TV. Spend the money if you got it on the oceanfront suite - awesome!!!!!!!!

RIU Paradise Island

The food was excellent. All inculsive including alcohol. TV was a little limited but not bad for an island. Great location. Next door to the Atlantis. So glad I was not there. Too many people at Atlantis.

Incredible vacation

We have never been to the Bahama's before. At first we was a little lost on how to get around but finally asked at the Hotel and the staff was very helpful on any questions we had. For the money we paid, we felt that we received great service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who was going to the Bahamas. Also if you are going to the Bahamas, stay on Padarise Island not Nassau. The beaches are better.
