      Great Value Pick

Very friendly, helpful staff and great location next to Atlantas. Rooms were large and very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Plan on paying twice what you would pay for meals at home when on Paradise Island. Service was generally very friendly - just don't plan on fast service, as it doesn't exist here (not really a bad thing, just a different pace of life).

      Single in Paradise Island

Paradise Island has an invisible sign that says; couples only. Beautiful area, nice people. But you get strange looks when traveling alone by the locals. Everyone kept asking " Where's your girlfrind or wife?". Another thing is if they think your Gay, you here snide remarks. One worker at Atlantis saw me alone and said "Oh yeah, your straight!". I didn't appreciate that at all. So I can imagine what he would have said if I was with another guy. I was just there on vacation alone, that's all.

If you are a Gay man or couple skip Paradise Island, just stay in Nassau. There's a ton of English history, especially colonialism, going back five hundred years that is fascinating. Great hotels, food, tons of beaches and very little attitude. And it's beautiful, however you have to watch yourself at night.

      Real Experiene

Nov 30, 2010 Just returned from Paradise Island, stayed at the Comfort Suite Inn. Traveled for the Thanksgiving Break 11/22- 11/27/2010, booked the Comfort Inn to save the extra money. Prior to the vacation I emailed Comfort Inn to see if possible to have a room that overlooks the Hotel pool area. Our daughter was celebrating her 12th birthday so I wanted a room that was overlooking the pool. Request was denied, our room( #290) overlooked entrance to parking lot. The room was moderately clean and and you had to make 1 or 2 requests for anthing that you needed. The charge for housekepping is $5.00 per person, per day. Our Energy Surcharge was $ 25.90 per day. The only thing that saves this Hotel is that you can get a very decent breakfast from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. and that it sits across the street from the market where you can purchase food items at a much cheaper cost. If you do stay at the Comfort Inn you will need to walk about 10 minutes to enter the water rides at Hotel Atlantis. If you are looking for a Hotel just to shower and sleep this is your Hotel. As far as our family is concerned, we will return back to Paradise Island but will spend the extra money to stay at the Hotel Atlantis. We visted the Hotel Rooms at the Beach Tower and at the Royal Tower and it it worth the extra money for the rooms, the view, and the location. After speaking with several families you can also get great rates at the Hotel Atlantis but you have to invest some time in doing the research.

When looking for your gifts or things to bring back we found that it was worth traveling to the Downtown area and going to the open area markets where you can make offers on certain items. The Taxi ride from Comfort Inn to downtown was $12.00 plus $1.00 for Toll and tip.

Most of the restaurants needed advance reservations. We were not aware of this and weren't able to get into the few we had wanted to go to.
