It Was The Bomb!

This was a trip for me and my 22 yr old son. We had a blast. The place is full of families, so there are not many "singles" hangin around, so if you aren't okay with small children, then I'd go elsewhere, but we didn't care. However, if you are looking to see beautiful places, eat good food, drink tropical drinks--all in a wonderful setting, then this is it. I was overwhelmed when we arrived. Lots of chaos of people moving to and fro. But once I got the hang of the resort, I loved it and felt relaxed and comfortable. I went to Starbucks every morning, and at night my son and I walked across the bridge and sought out yummy, cheaper food off of the resort. Try The Poop Deck. Also Bahamian beer is great (Kalik, I think is the name). The resort was clean, lovely, and interesting. Huge manta rays everywhere, and at the beach, the water is crystal clear. Enjoy!!

Take several of your own bottles of water and Gatorade. You will save $$ that you can spend on a tropical drink in the afternoon. Also, pack some snacks, and then you can skip the pricey snack bars.

Always fun...for the kids

This was our fourth time to The Atlantis. One thing for sure, you won't get bored. With three kids, we did not run out of things to do and avoided the "I'm bored" conundrum. The water park in the highlite, even when the weather is not so good. I took advantage of the nice, though very crowded, fitness center. At $15, it's worth an hour of "personal" time. Everything has a price, though. The in room baby sitting, kids camp and Crush club for kids afforded us some adult time in the casino and a quiet dinner for two but it adds up quickly. Always a fun stay for us and the kids.

Pricey for what you get, but not bad

Good: amazing architecture, lots of water activities, great collection of marine life Could improve: stroller/handicap access- it was often circuitous and difficult to find elevators and one door was too narrow to let the stroller in the elevator. Another ramp was slow and often broke down. We were upgraded to the Imperial Club, however the check-in staff failed to let us know that there was a special floor for light meals and snacks that we could utilize. We accidentally found out ourselves the day before we left!

This hotel is the Best in Paridise Island, Bahamas. But you will pay out the pockets for it...

My experience was great here at this resort if you trying to impress your family, girlfriend, boyfriend,or etc this is the place you need to be. But if you want the best your pockets will pay for it. Nothing is free here except the beach towels, and water park slides other than that you will pay! Trust me!!

Unbelievable (-ly expensive!)

This is a fantastic resort. There is so much to do, between the water park (awesome), the beaches (very wavy, but nice), the pools (perfect), the aquariums (wonderful and extensive), the night clubs (loud but decent), and the casino (surprisingly not very smoky), our family of 4 had no trouble keeping busy or relaxing throughout a great stay. There are many restaurants but the food was mostly just OK. But the price of everything is so absurd! Think of the most you've ever paid for a hotel room, then multiply by 2-3x to get a comparable at Atlantis, and the room (at the Royal Towers) was nothing special, we've had much nicer rooms for way less. They add 15% gratuity to EVERYthing, including the carry out places that had no service at all. Even the daily maid service has an automatic tip (included in the 'fees'). It's 20% at the spa. The staff was great, very helpful, but you could tell it was because they knew you were paying through the nose to be there. Oddly, they have first-run Hollywood movies in a nice theatre every night, for FREE. There are cruise ships that send groups to the water park at mid-day, but after 4 PM the crowd mostly disappears. At 7 PM everything shuts down, there are no night pools. We were there for Spring Break but the crowd was tolerable. Overall, I would love to stay there again, but I'll need to win the lottery first or otherwise get someone else to pay for it. We had a great time, but paying off the credit card will not be so much fun.

Stay at the Royal Towers IF you can afford it. This property sprawls and it is a long walk from the hotels at either end. The Royal Towers are in the ideal location (the middle) to maximize your experience there.

Great family vacation

Definitely recommend for family vacation, our kids are teens and they loved it. Be prepared for higher expenses. Eating is a large part of the budget. Don't get prepaid meal package, keeps your options limited. Everywhere people were very friendly, not only at resort. The ambience and attention to details are unsurpassed. Biggest issue is not enough places to eat quickly after 6 p.m. Love to go again.

Be Prepared to Pay for Most Activities

The lines were long for free activities. The crowds thinned from Tues to Thurs. People from other hotels buy day passes which increases the numbers. Chairs are scarce at times and hotel policies regarding chairs are not enforced. The hotel staff were warm, helpful, and fun.

Atlantis great facility

Greatest/Largest Facility I've been to. Best pool complex on the planet. Only downside is very high end for a family trip so food very expensive for a family trip. Make sure kids are 48" tall or you cant go on the big swater slides, but there are many others for the youngsters. Do the offsite snorkel/scuba, best vale and you get a ride out into the ocean. One bummer is smoking is OK EVERYWHERE if that bothers you and you have to get through the smoke filled large casino to get to most dinner options.
