The Bahamas

Location was good, the private beach for the hotel was filthy with broken glass bottles in the sand and plastic bags in the water. My hotel room was perfect with a great view of the beach! The casino at the hotel was not very lively, there was no music or live enthusiastic dealers at any of the tables.

Not what I expected

The room smelt musty, had a hard time getting enough towels, no microwaves and a very small frig in the rooms made eating out almost a must. One of the 2 elevators did not work half the time. The outside bar closed at 5:00pm (the other never opened at all) A lot of soliciting in the Hotel/Resort, everyone was very pleasant (until you didn't want to purchase whatever it was they were selling, then the smiles went away) Overall, it was 'okay', but I don't plan on going there again anytime soon.

If you like to drink alcohol, the Booze & Cruise was a fun outing. Lunch, snorkeling, and all the 'booze' you can drink.

Very Mediocre

Swimming Pool was big but the water did not feel clean. Food was terrible and expensive. Escpecially the Friday night fish fry in the Sea View Room Rooms okay, large basically clean. Met guests who complained about bugs. Hotel did not have rooms ready for 4:00 pm check in. Came back at 6:00 and had to fight to get our rooms. Also tried to back out of a double room I had requested the day before and three hours before and previously had no problem. Some staff friendly and courteous but not all consistent. The food service in the bar was poor. Served in styrofoam containers with plastic silverware. Bellman told me to that the only ATM was in the Casino and when there were 2 banks accross the street.

You get what you pay for

The hotel staff could have been a little more friendly. There were a few staff members that would smile or speak when passing, but the majority seemed like they just plain out were not happy to be there. Gratuity was already included in the meal so your service was not spectacular at the hotel dining areas. The first room the a/c did not work well, so we had to be moved to another room and the a/c was not much better, did not feel like moving again to another room. When meeting several other guest and couples they complained and heard others complain about there a/c too. The hotel has potential but in need of major renovations. Rooms are stuffy and moldy smelling. The view was nice, I enjoyed the beach and it was quiet. Next time we will try a different hotel.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

The jitney bus picks you up right in front of hotel and it is safe and saves you some money. It is around .50 per person each way. The drivers were all very friendly and help direct you on where and which bus to take. There was a small area across the street with little booths selling the same thing you can get downtown for cheaper. It is also cheaper to catch the jitney downtown and then take a taxi from there to the Atlantis if you want to sight see.
