Horrible

This was a 1 star resort if that, with 5 star prices. Rooms dirty, NO amenities, over priced food, poor quality, and I waited over an hour to be served at every meal. Service was less than poor- it was non-existent. I have never been to the Bahamas and I doubt I will return.

Average

The hotel is under construction and is not well kept. The lobby has an odor, carpets are dirty and there are cracks in the ceilings and floors. The staff is helpful although most are unfriendly. The staff is persistent in trying to sell vacation packages and will become unpleasant if you opt out of the purchase. Overall, the Wyndham is a great place to stay if you are looking for a cheap get-a-way.

Horrible Experience

From the moment we walked in, we were disgusted. Lobby, hallways, and room were musty, carpets were stained, wall and ceilings are cracked. Patches of carpeting in the one area of the lobby were duct-taped. One pool (that was not even close to clean) next to construction that had jack-hammers going all day. A condom was lying on the stairs leading up to the spiral pool slide (NO JOKE). Safe didn't work, nor was bolted down. We insisted on transferring to the connecting Sheration and had a good time. Speaking with other guests, transferring to the Sheraton seems to be a common occurance.

Horrible! Don't ruin your vacation by staying at Wyndham!

I am not picky and never write reviews but I thought it is important to write this to save someone from ruining their vacation. I booked this place even though the reviews I read prior to going were not as great. I thought it cannot be that bad. But... Construction/Constant Drilling noise is unavoidable. They try to blast the loudest untasteful music by the pool to cover it somewhat but you can still hear it. This place smells bad and noone cares to clean. It is always damp and not because of the weather. If you walk from Sheraton to Wyndham you know that you walked to another hotel. Even though they are connected Wyndham greets you with the smell of mold. One elevator smells so bad that people avoid taking it. My husband suggested that the hotel staff sprays some refreshener at least and he was told that he should go find the maid and tell her to clean. He was appalled that they found that it should be his responsibility to make sure its cleaned. Ice machines are rusted. Corridors destroyed! Rooms are destroyed, furniture damaged, carpets are coming up. Walls are dirty, curtains ripped. Room maids never leave enough towels and do not give enough detail to cleanliness. We checked in to find blood and hair on the sheets the first night. Horrific! Our room key broke and they sent the security to reprogramme it. The guy who came was so unexperienced and said "Ill just tell the front desk to move you!" No sorry that I have to pack again, nothing. Front desk never called me as well. I had to call myself and ask what is the status and is there a room that we should move to available? I walked to get the key and the manager had an attitude that I had a question whether the newly assigned room has the same view and the king bed. Beach towels are given out with stains on them. Besides Starbucks, the only restaurant that was open was overpriced steakhouse - $49.00 for a steak which was not worth it. If you have to stay at Wyndham, go to eat and use the pool in Sheraton or go to FishFry or Downtown. According to people who work, because this place was bought out by BahaMar resort and Wyndham is about to be renovated, noone cares anymore. Sad that they still invite people to come and stay! Don't stay if you still can! Pay little more for Sheraton! You will see its worth paying for Sheraton when you get there!

Hotel Closed

This hotel was closed for major renovations, we were placed in there sister hotel the Sheridan. I booked this hotel for the casino, however, when they closed the Wyndham they also closed the casino. So we had to take cabs to Paradise Island which cost us an additional 42.00 a day. The Sheridan is the next to close for major renovation. I was disappointed.

Wyndham Nassau Resort

Not impressed at all with this resort. It is run-down, old, in bad shape, and smells like stale cigaretts, mold and mildew. Even the pool area outsids is in need of major overall. The staff did an excellent job of accomadating us once we informed them the accomodations were not acceptable. We ended up moving to the Sherdan next door.

Hotel needs alot

I would not recommend the Wyndham Nassau Resort to anyone. I have stayed at this hotel before and I have also stayed at the Sheraton next door before and I had always enjoyed my stays, but this time there was a tremendous difference. Half of the amenities at the Wyndham were not available and even worse - half of the beach is under construction and not available to walk on. Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful, but others were very unaccomodating. The pool and jacuzzi were cold and needed to be cleaned. Nothing like it used to be. Very disappointing.

Go somewhere else to eat. I stayed at the hotel and ate there, but the meals were not worth the price. There is a Starbucks cafe in the hotel and that offered the best quality and value, but it was just snacks and coffee.

Disappointing at best

The location of the hotel is great and the food in the on-site restaurants is really good. The staff is also very friendly. Our room is what made our experience very disappointing. We checked in to our corner suite around 3 pm, unpacked, opened the balcony doors and turned off the A/C units. Then it was of to town for a walk around and dinner. Upon our return our room was freezing cold. It turned out the A/C wouldn't turn off. The hotel sent someone up to loo at it and he couldn't fix it but promised someone that could would be by in the morning. We decided to tough it out under blankets for the night since it was already late. Compounding this was the fact that the hotel WiFi was down and also couldn't be fixed till the next day. The next morning we waited around for someone to come fix the A/C and no one showed up. We decided to go out to the beach but as we went to take showers we discovered water leaking from the ceiling into the tub and other places in the bathroom. And still no WiFi. The hotel sent someone up to look at the leak and at that point I asked if we could be moved to another room. I was told there were no other rooms available. The maintenance man sent up determined they couldn't fix the leak and we needed to be moved. I asked for them to send up a manager at that point. When the manager arrived I explained the situation and asked since they couldn't move us to another room onsite could they get us into the Sheraton next door. Miraculously she had with her keys to 2 other rooms they could move us to. The first room we looked at was on the other side of the hotel and a copy of ours. The A/C did turn off in that room, however right below our balcony was a huge construction site and we almost couldn't even hear ourselves talk. When we brought this up to the manager her response was "Well, you won't be spending all your time in your room, right?" Upon being asked she did tell us that the construction site hours were 8 am till 8 pm. We declined that room and again asked to be moved to the other hotel. She then told us we would be upgraded to one of their penthouse floor rooms at no charge. We looked at the room (back in the other tower), checked that the A/C turned off and accepted it. The WiFi was working in this room and all appeared to be well, Until we went to shower the next day. The water pressure in the room would cut in and out and continued to do so through our departure the next day, even after they claimed to have fixed it. We both got stuck a few times standing around for 5 to 10 minutes covered in soap while we waited for the water pressure to come back. Also, our WiFi issues kept cropping up throughout the remaining time there and it would drop out and then when it came back it would ask you to pay the resort fee again before connecting you. And beware of their online photos. Half of the waterfront they show in their images is gone. All in all, not a great time as it seemed we were wasting most of our limited time in the Bahamas dealing with hotel issues.

Avoid it. Not what it promises. Cafes and Restaurants were closed. Forced to go to Sheraton. No organized entertainment. Escalator not working. Areas roped off. Construction site noise, even on Weekend/Christmas day. Jaccuzzi tub not working. Casino tables closed except one day of 7. Incomplete room cleaning.
