Pretty nice
Not the best hotel or the worst I've stayed at. The only negative is that the surrounding area doesnt have a whole lot to do. Consider planning a few trips when staying.

Poor stay at Wyndham Nassau Report
After paying a supplement of $188 for a corner suite we were first shown to a part of the hotel that had been closed for renovations, no working escalators and was deserted apart from a few Chinese workers. View of a building site of Baha Mar. Not a good start. We complained and were reluctantly moved with no offer of help to move rooms. The hotel was in shockingly poor condition for the $3000 + paid for 7 nights. Service from the front desk was pleasant bit uninspiring. Lack of open restaurant facilities/fitness etc meant a trek over to the Sheraton next door. Most of the tour agents were only interested in selling a free breakfast package with a tour of timeshare suites. This as a first experience of Wyndham in the Bahamas must have left many wondering why they had paid so much money. Expensive for meals and poor quality all round. No buffet as promised. Black Angus appeared only open at weekends. Pool conditions were atrocious. Pools at the Sheraton became overcrowded. The casino tables only opened one night in the seven we were there. Overpriced, oversold and in short a complete rip off!

Hotel needs alot
I would not recommend the Wyndham Nassau Resort to anyone. I have stayed at this hotel before and I have also stayed at the Sheraton next door before and I had always enjoyed my stays, but this time there was a tremendous difference. Half of the amenities at the Wyndham were not available and even worse - half of the beach is under construction and not available to walk on. Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful, but others were very unaccomodating. The pool and jacuzzi were cold and needed to be cleaned. Nothing like it used to be. Very disappointing.

Go somewhere else to eat. I stayed at the hotel and ate there, but the meals were not worth the price. There is a Starbucks cafe in the hotel and that offered the best quality and value, but it was just snacks and coffee.

Oh Boy...
Oh Boy....
Ants around the small refrigerator... (1st day they brought up and used RAID Bug Spray. 3rd day, I asked them to bring it up and leave the can!) No remote for the television... (brought in later) Clock set incorrectly... (I reset it) One day, balcony door left unlocked by attendant... WATER PRESSURE REDICULOUSLY LOW!!! No towel replacement two of the days, but they took the towels that had been used... (I had to use the corner of one of the medium size towels to wash my face) I see why one of my friends who had been to the conference during previous years said that she would never stay there again and stayed at the Sheraton... Very dirty windows on ground level on beach front side... Just because a new hotel is going up next door does not mean that no money should be put into this one, or that there should be no concern for guests who are paying dollars today!

A Pleasant Stay
I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful. There were a few disappointments: Only one of 6 restaurants was open for service. The fitness area barely qualified as such. I found it useless for my purposes. Of the five days that I stayed, three of those days, there were not face cloths available after the room was serviced. I am inclined to try another hotel if I return to the area.

Disappointing at best
The location of the hotel is great and the food in the on-site restaurants is really good. The staff is also very friendly. Our room is what made our experience very disappointing. We checked in to our corner suite around 3 pm, unpacked, opened the balcony doors and turned off the A/C units. Then it was of to town for a walk around and dinner. Upon our return our room was freezing cold. It turned out the A/C wouldn't turn off. The hotel sent someone up to loo at it and he couldn't fix it but promised someone that could would be by in the morning. We decided to tough it out under blankets for the night since it was already late. Compounding this was the fact that the hotel WiFi was down and also couldn't be fixed till the next day. The next morning we waited around for someone to come fix the A/C and no one showed up. We decided to go out to the beach but as we went to take showers we discovered water leaking from the ceiling into the tub and other places in the bathroom. And still no WiFi. The hotel sent someone up to look at the leak and at that point I asked if we could be moved to another room. I was told there were no other rooms available. The maintenance man sent up determined they couldn't fix the leak and we needed to be moved. I asked for them to send up a manager at that point. When the manager arrived I explained the situation and asked since they couldn't move us to another room onsite could they get us into the Sheraton next door. Miraculously she had with her keys to 2 other rooms they could move us to. The first room we looked at was on the other side of the hotel and a copy of ours. The A/C did turn off in that room, however right below our balcony was a huge construction site and we almost couldn't even hear ourselves talk. When we brought this up to the manager her response was "Well, you won't be spending all your time in your room, right?" Upon being asked she did tell us that the construction site hours were 8 am till 8 pm. We declined that room and again asked to be moved to the other hotel. She then told us we would be upgraded to one of their penthouse floor rooms at no charge. We looked at the room (back in the other tower), checked that the A/C turned off and accepted it. The WiFi was working in this room and all appeared to be well, Until we went to shower the next day. The water pressure in the room would cut in and out and continued to do so through our departure the next day, even after they claimed to have fixed it. We both got stuck a few times standing around for 5 to 10 minutes covered in soap while we waited for the water pressure to come back. Also, our WiFi issues kept cropping up throughout the remaining time there and it would drop out and then when it came back it would ask you to pay the resort fee again before connecting you. And beware of their online photos. Half of the waterfront they show in their images is gone. All in all, not a great time as it seemed we were wasting most of our limited time in the Bahamas dealing with hotel issues.
