Beware
Hotel service wasn't that great and facilities and hotel are really, really old. Turns out that the Wyndham (along with the Sheraton) is to be demolished in July but a new one will be built next door for the new Bahamar. If anything, go next year in 2014 when the Bahamar opens.

ROACHES in room
This hotel was filthy. We found roaches crawling in our bathroom. The hotel staff was rude, especially at the front desk. They overcharged our credit cards and it became a hassle to get a refund. Bad location, there are no authentic nearby Caribbean food restaurants that you can walk to and the night life is non existent. Spend the extra money and get a 4 or 5 star hotel. I attached pictures. I honestly believe some of these 5star reviews are manufactured to keep this hotel at 3stars. This place is at best a two star hotel and thats only because I had a nice view and flat screen tv. If you are one of those people who read the bad reviews first because they always seem to be the reality of what happens, take this review seriously.

Disappointed to say the least
The hotel photos view is beautiful but not the description inside. The hotel is being closed and the amenities to include restaurants are sparse. The staff are about the only thing going for it. We experience power outages twice to include no room cleaning one day, lights escalators didn't work etc...

Will be great when the construction is complete
I've been visiting Nassau for many years and I remember when the Wyndham was a vibrant, modern hotel. Unfortunately, it is now past peak and under major construction. The grounds are rather unkempt, the pool is cracked and dirty (with sea gulls drinking out of it), and sand is being dug up from the beach with backhoes. It was also impossible to take a long walk down Cable Beach because of a huge construction blockade. The casino's table games were closed for most of my stay and the restaurant choices were extremely limited. On the bright side, the room was clean, the staff were quite helpful, and we were allowed to use the neighboring property's facilities (which were in reasonable shape). The resort fee is an absolute rip off and I was not happy about paying it upon check-out (it's not included in the package). I was also unhappy about the 14$ in-room wifi charge.

Great Place to Store Your Stuff
My sister and I went to the Bahamas for a vacation. She's 25 and I'm 22. We went there for the purpose of enjoying the beach. The room was just and average hotel room with the typical amenities. The beach, however, was beautiful. The hotel did an excellent job ensuring that the beach was litter free and was incredibly relaxing. The hotel was great about answering our questions about the local area and helping us with either the local bus or a taxi. This isn't a hotel to stay in if you're expecting a 5-star luxury suite. This is the perfect hotel to stay in if you want a hotel that isn't too expensive, is close to the beach, and whose key function is for sleeping. Also, while I currently don't have any children I would highly consider bringing my kids here in the future. There were plenty of beach activities and a pool slide for kids to enjoy.

Go to the Fish Fry. All the restaurants really work hard to convince you that their restaurant is better than the one next door, which can be a little intimidating, but the food is excellent.

Average
The hotel is under construction and is not well kept. The lobby has an odor, carpets are dirty and there are cracks in the ceilings and floors. The staff is helpful although most are unfriendly. The staff is persistent in trying to sell vacation packages and will become unpleasant if you opt out of the purchase. Overall, the Wyndham is a great place to stay if you are looking for a cheap get-a-way.

Under reconstruction
The location of the hotel is perfect, the indoor look is retrofuturistic which does not have to fit to everybodys taste. The biggest downside is the current reconstruction of one of its towers which creates a lot of noise, it is practically not possible to spent any time at the pool/balcony during the day thanks to the noise... Other than that, good value for the money...
