You get what you pay for :)
This hotel was amazing, I'm sure in the 1980's. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights when we came to the Island for a wedding that was down the street. We were looking for cheap since we really would not have any time but sleep and go to the wedding. We come to the Bahamas 4 to 5 times a year either by cruise or to "The big destination resort". Here is a quick review: ========== FOOD ========== All the restaurants where closed except for one diner that had over priced bar food on the menu for dinner. Hope you plan to be hungry or take a taxi cab to find other food locations. I don't have an issue paying high price for a meal, but the places have to be open so that you can. The connected sister hotel had 2 more dining options that were open and the buffet was decent. ========== CASINO ========== The casino did not have any of the table games open (tues and weds night we were there). How can a Casino at least at night not have any table games open??? ========== ROOM ========== Room was clean and had a good ocean view, The mattress very non supportive, both my wife and I woke up with sore backs and shoulders from the bed. ========== THE ADVICE ========== If you are looking for a cheap place on the island, that has a pool and some beach access, this is the spot. Prob the best deal in town, just don't expect to be in PARADISE :) I knew what I was getting when I booked the room, so I was not shocked, but would have been highly disappointed if I was here for a real vacation.

Family Vacation
the Wyndham Resort needs some updates , our room was on the 3rd floor and on the second floor they have a bar with music and dancing and on Thursday- Friday it closes at 2:00 am. and on Saturdays plays until 3:00 am, the music is so loud that it vibrates the floor and is so loud on the 3rd floor that there is no way you can sleep. I called and complained and the next morning tried to get another room and the front desk was not accomodating at all, she said they were booked and never offered any other solution, apology or giving us a discount or dinner coupons. Very Disappointed in customer service. They also charge a resort fee of $ 38.00 day on top of room rate so beware of that.

Wyndham in construction zone
I've stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed it but they are currently in a construction zone and experienced at least three power outages in my brief one night stay. They need to adjust their prices to accomodate for their current situation in my opinion. The hotel is also pretty dated. I also would prefer to have the resort fee's charged upfront when I look up the hotel pricing.

Very out of date
The hotel is very out of date, it looks like its stuck in the 90s but at least the rooms where nice and up to date, but the majority of the staff was rude and unpleasant. The pool was unkept and seemed to be falling apart. Would not recommend

Needs to "Step Up" to maintain Wyndham Reputation
Upon my arrival, I was checked into the wrong room. Is was a "smoking room". Not very nice. Stains on the carpet and on the lamp shades. Dust on the desk. Not very clean. I told them I did not like the room and their response was, they were sorry, but there were no other rooms available. Really??? The view was nice, BUT THE ROOM WAS NOT! Not the best experience on my first night there.

Irene
The trip was not good because the travel agent did not advise me there was a hurricane coming in one day. I bought the travel insurance and could not get a flight off the island. I also could not reach the travel agent staff to let them know I spent an hour on the phone waiting for someone to answer. The hotel staff were great and evacuated us to the hotel next door which was nice. Make sure your travel agents know before they send guests into the eye of the storm CAT III hurricane Irene.

short business trip
The staff were nice, but it is clear that this hotel is on its way out as the BahaMar is being built nearby. There was no hot water the first 36 hours I was there, to give you an idea of how things went during my 3 night stay. Things are clean, but starting to nead repairs to be as nice as the hotel once seemed to be. I would stay here on a buget, but for the ultra-nice vacation in Nassau would head on over to Atlantis.

Good getaway for price
They are building a brand new resort so I feel like they do not pay too much attention to the current buildings. We had no working water the last day at the resort and there was no real sense of urgency to resolve the situation. Out of all the restaurants offered, only one was open (expensive steakhouse). However, the people are very friendly. It is a good getaway for the price. The pool and beach were not crowded. FYI - learn the bus routes...taxis are way overpriced.

Short drive from hotel
If you can not eat at the hotel, go to FIsh Fry. It is on route to downtown Nassau and is where the local restaurants are.

Summer vaction
The first 3 days we got we had no hot water the door to our room would not close we had to call housekeeping on a daily basis for wash clothes and hand towels there was construction going on right outside our room that we were not told about when we arrived. When we checked out we asked for the hotel managers business card the front desk clerk said she did not have one and we told her why we wanted it. she was nice enough and gave us a $100.00 back . I thought they should have at least offered us another stay for a couple of days when they were done with the renovations.
