Nice Stay
Stayed for three nights and did an all-day scuba diving. Nice hotel. Food cost is high at the hotel but same with everywhere else on the island as the 17 percent tip is included in the bill as well.

Beautiful Resort
Beautiful property. Clean beach and several (clean) pools. Only had a couple of issues. The staff needs to get their act together. One day we had 4 towels and no wash clothes, next day no towels and 4 wash clothes, next day 3 towels and 2 wash clothes. They were quick to correct it, but we had to call down to the front desk almost every day. There are not many places to choose from to eat (including the connecting Wyndham). A bunch are only open 3 days a week. Black Angus steakhouse (in Wyndham) is awesome but was $200 for a family of 4 (with no liquor!). Buffets are horrible with limited slections. Sheraton buffet ran out of many items and the Wyndham buffet had some spoiled selections. All food is (extremely) overrpriced but is typical of an island resort. Tough to find things to feed young children, not a hot dog to be seen. Overall a good vacation spot if you can work around the food selections.

Great hotel, location and staff
We had a wonderful stay at the Nassau, Sheraton. The service was great; friendly and prompt, the room and facilities very stylish and nice, the beach the cleanest one around. The food at the hotel was bland and expensive; try local restaurants for great food! Downtown Nassau is a short ($1.25) bussride away. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Wishing we were there
Enjoyed our stay a lot, as expected meals & drinks expensive...read on for way to fix that
The front desk was extremely accommodating and let us in early as we had an early flight; the hotel has the typical slight damp smell you can expect of a beachfront resort but not something that bothered us. The view from our oceanfront room was gorgeous and we headed out to the beach after a nap; the sand is soft and sugary, the water is gin clear (bring or rent snorkel gear and go out to the rocks of the breakwater; there is all manner of marine life out there...we saw as much or more than we did on our paid snorkel adventure). We got a rude awakening the next morning when our on-site breakfast buffet cost $75+ for three people...that was a mistake we did not repeat. We ate all of our other meals off-site; lunch and dinner we took at the "Fish Fry" which is on the way to downtown on Arawak Cay...in particular we loved Brunos and Twin Brothers...be sure to order conch fritters at least once, and the fishburger at Bruno's is epic! We also picked up some beer and tequila at local establishments and kept our drink costs down (of course ordered a FEW fruity goodies to give some business to the barstaff...gratuity is supposedly included but if you tip once your drinks become magically stronger) The pools were clean and the one closest to the ocean was bathtub warm...weird thing though, the bar staff is unable to serve drinks at the swim-up barstools...made no sense, but we just climbed out, got our beers, and drank them in the pool anyway. Pfffft. Silly rule. As is probably mentioned by other visitors, there is a $40/day "resort" fee; I guess they have to charge this outside of the third party booking company but I knew about it ahead of time so didn't gripe. If you want in-room wifi you will need to bring your own wireless router; there is wired ethernet access in-room but the only native wifi is in the lobby and common areas (the setup of the router was simple, their IT department had given me instructions the previous week...it just consists of plugging the ethernet cable into one of the OUTPUTS, not in the normal internet input...then you are given a one-time login dialog to verify you are indeed a guest) All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will go there again, especially with our learned lesson about the meal and drink price ;-).

Short drive from hotel
the Fish Fry is a short drive from the hotel and there are numerous restaurants side by side to enjoy...don't miss it; it is a great resource frequented by locals as well as tourists...ask the front desk for directions or just take a bus (check with Guest Information for the bus hours; it's only $1.25 per person each way and well worth it)

Great place for family vacation
Our time at the Sheraton was wonderful. The hotel is aging a bit and there is some wear and tear but in the Bahamas you don't want to stay in the rooms. This hotel is on a wonderful beach that is more peaceful and relaxing than downtown Nassau. The beach wasn't overly crowded and the snorkeling off the beach was amazing...we saw sea turtles, rays, tons of fish. The resturants were very expensive so plan to eat away from the hotel.

Short drive from hotel
There are a ton of great places to eat in Nassau but only one place within walking distance (a good Thai place). Expect to take buses or taxis for meals, a great place is Olive Meze Grill just a short drive north of the hotel.

Summer fun
Overall stay was great. Only negative is the casino that is attached is a poor excuse for a casino. The table games are only open fri and sat evenings and then only six or seven of the 25 tables were open Highly reccomend the daquari shack that is located across the street it has the best fresh fruit drinks I've ever had and friendly bartenders.

Sheraton Stay
We had a great time, hotel beautiful. Our room was on the fourth floor, the elevator by the room was not working, had to do extra walking, but that was the only problem we had. The walking did us good. The staff was great, had a wonderful lady that took care of everything we needed for our room. It was really clean and comfortable. The biggest issue was the price of food . Very pricey . Enjoyed the pool and the beach, very beautiful.

Take snacks and try other places to eat if you are on a limited budget. Take the bus when you travel, less expensive if you are staying a long period of time. Food and taxi's high.

good fun
the hotel could use a little uplift in the way of cleanliness (stains on the carpeting, walls need a painting, etc.) Other than that, had a great time. Staff was pleasant and location was very serene and comforting
