Terrible experience. Not a 4-star hotel
The hotel is described as 4-star but it is far from that. Probably the only good thing about the hotel is its location, right in front of Cable beach, which is amazing. Apart from that, almost everything else was bad. The staff was rude. The room was not clean when we arrived and they didn't clean it the next day. We had to complain in order to get the room cleaned. The hotel was kind of expensive, which would have been reasonable for a normal 4-star hotel, but not for this one. We ate twice in the hotel and the service was really slow. Even worse, they include a mandatory 15% tip in all checks. The highlight, though, was that they were charged as twice for things that we got. More specifically, one night we sat at the bar to eat something and get a drink. When we got the check, there was a duplicate charge for my plate. Of course we called the manager, who fixed the error and didn't charge us for the drinks, which was nice. However, the same thing happened when I paid the hotel charges. The had charged us an extra breakfast. We, of course mentioned it to the manager, who, again, fixed it and removed some charges from our bill. Still, though, this happened twice. They are either trying to take advantage of us or very reckless. Either way, make sure to check your charges twice if you stay there, which I wouldn't recommend.

Good Resort and Location
We stayed for 6 nights and 7 days. Everything was good the first 2 nights, until I saw the dirty sheets that they changed and then it all went bad because we got bitten by bed bugs for the last 4 nights. I think when they changed the sheets they stirred up the bed bugs and we got bites all over our bodies. When we got home we steamed cleaned everything just in case it got into our luggages. We thought it was misquito bites from our excursions but they did not look like misquito bites after a couple of days. We have not had a chance to call the hotel and let them know yet, but it definitely clouded our relaxation time with itchiness.

Nice Beach; Poor Hotel
The challenges of poor service, lack of towels, check-in chaos and general incompetence spoil what is a very nice location right on the beach for this hotel. It isn't a resort at all but rather a Motel 6 with a great beach.

Uninhabitable room
The room smelled of urine and mold and was uninhabitable. The in-room movie system did not work. We checked in at noon and checked out that evening. I know the star grading system is subjective, but this hotel should by no standards be considered four stars. Staff was friendly.

Worst service I've ever received. Will not stay here again.
I don't know if it was because it was an off month or what but the employees at this hotel are totally unmotivated to have any standard of customer service and made our stay really tough. From the Starbucks employees to the front desk staff to the pool staff, there were other employees hanging around doing nothing everywhere and when I went up to make a purchase or ask a question, they acted like I was disturbing them. I tried to get a restaurant reservation with the spg rep who ended up making the reservation for the wrong night. When we brought it to her attention, she had to call back and change. We never heard back from her and when we checked the next day, she had made 2 reservations, one for the correct night and one for the incorrect night and then started arguing with us that we told her to do that!! We ended up being charged a cancellation fee!! Food was terrible in the whole resort, you should leave for dinner at least every night. Rooms were filthy- there were cigarette butts all over the terrace. Pool chairs were old and yellow, we didn't even want to use them so went to the beach where no one was there to help with chairs so we had to drag them off a huge pile ourselves... Complaints go on and on. Point is, don't stay here unless your expectations are very low.

Sheraton Resort Nassau, Bahamas
This was avertised as a non-smoking hotel. the only place I have ever been to with more smoking was Germany. The hallways, pool areas etc was full of smoke. Every 5th person was smoking. Management argued there was no people smoking while their own head of security argued with the management about how bad it was. Meals are usually over 100 dollars with a manditory 15% gratuity. This was in addition to the additional $40 per night hotel misc fee. For this you see the server 1 time and forget getting a refill on water or any other beverage. In addition, the staff was generally rude and gave the illusion you were intruding on their time. I met a lady waiting for guest services for over 30 min. without ever being greeted. Our room came complete with a hole in the bathroom wall, 1 of the 4 railings on the bed was missing. the personal safe was bolted in the restroom where we had to remove our computers and electronics each time we showered so moisture would not enter them, etc. Once you leave the resort the rest of the people are fantastic. we enjoyed the dolphin encounter and the fish fry. Just for the record the worst part of the vacation was the Sheraton. Next time we will stay at another location. Save your money. You will have more comfort in the back of a bus.

Eat at the Fish Fry. It is a group of dining restaurants where you can get local dining at great prices and nice helpful people. You can take the local bus for 1.25 per person and a cap ride is reasonable also.

This place is horrible
When I scheduled my stay at the Sheraton I was pretty excited about it. I usually only stay at 2.5 start hotels because all I do is sleep there but this seemed like a good deal. I will never go back there, it was not a deal at all. The staff was very slow and unfriendly. I stood in line to check in for about an hour, with only 1 person in front of me. I scheduled 3 excursions through the hotel after I got there. They have a table with all the brochures and people that are supposed to help you make reservations. The woman I ended up with had no knowledge of any of the details of these excursions. She was rude and short. And when I showed up for all 3 excursions, none of them knew who I was or could find my reservation! She also signed us up for the wrong excursion and we ended up spending 7.5 hours (round trip) on a ferry for a 45 minute tour on a different island. $300 NOT well spent. The people at the front desk and staff around the hotel were the most unfriendly and uncaring bunch of people I've ever had the misfortune to come across. For example, if you are walking down a hallway and a staff member is coming the other direction, they expect you to jump out of their way and will run into you if you don't. One time we went to the hotel breakfast buffet. We got our food and sat down but there was nothing to drink. They have waitresses and waiters that are supposed to bring coffee and OJ. After making eye contact with a waitress several times I finally spoke up and asked for coffee and OJ. She responded with "let me see your receipt" and "you aren't supposed to be sitting here". Well pardon me for wanting some OJ. The breakfast buffet was $50 for 2 people and they forcibly include tips. No wonder they are so rude, they get paid either way! Our room had some cleanliness issues as well. All the hand towels had yellow stains on them. I'm talking every hand towel we got for the entire week! I'm not saying they were urine stains, but that's what it looked like. One of the walls had a huge crack in it and I didn't even realize the bathroom floor was dirty until I took a shower. When I stepped on the floor with my wet foot, I noticed my wet foot left a clean spot on the floor. NASTY. The Bahamas in general is a great place and I had fun. If I ever make it back to the Bahamas I will never ever stay at the Sheraton again. This was not a 4 star experience. I only gave it 1 star because I couldn't give it any less.

NEVER eat in this hotel. The food is "ok" but the prices are inflated like you wouldn't believe! You can take the number 10 bus to the downtown area and find local restaurants with much friendlier service, better prices and better quality food.

Very disappointing
After we waited on line to check in for about 45 minutes, we were given a key to our "oceanview" room. You could see the ocean, if you leaned over the railing of the tiny balcony and looked right. The bathroom door did not close. We asked three times to have it fixed. Perhaps a fourth request would have been the charm. No one ever came. The public rest rooms were dirty and lacked toilet paper. The food was expensive (which we expected) and overly salty. The pool was less than pristine and we were constantly bothered by women trying to get us to pay ten dollars to try lunch at the hotel next door. Half of the staff was unfriendly and the rest were just unhelpful. Never again.

I was very dissapointed in the Hotel. The resteruants were closed for most of our stay. We had to change rooms twice once because of a smell, and another time because of bugs in the room (alot of bugs). It was too far away from everything!

Not what you expect from this hotel brand
Cannot recommend this hotel at all. We had to change our room, as there were ants in the first room (on the 7th floor). To be precise: We had to throw a fit to get a new room, as the staff mentioned that there were only "a few" ants and that this wasn't an issue. Once we got to the new room, we laid down on the bed that was so used that it made loud noises everytime you moved. Even the maid was agreeing that this was not ok. Again, we were put on hold by the operator and only after I personally spoke to the manager in the lobby, we were given a new matress by the head of housekeeping. Overall, the food in the hotel is overpriced and not to be recommended (a heated frozen pizza costs you 17$ a fruit cup 8$). The reception desk is ALWAYS understaffed, so expect at least 20minute wait. Staff is not helpful at all with one exception: our housekeeper was fantastic and did everything she could to make our vacation nicer. While I would recommend the Bahamas as a great vacay destination, do not go to this hotel, as it does not live up to the expectation you typically associate with this hotel name.
