Relaxing getaway

The location is excellent considering it is a relatively new property compared to the hotels in town. It is also a resort. The beach is a big draw with lots of beach chairs that are free of charge. The view is spectacular! There are limited places to eat inexpensively in the hotel and nearby. The biggest disappointment is the Wi-Fi wireless service which is only available in the hotel lobby, wired service is in rooms but that doesnt help if you only have an iPad.

Amazing beach, expensive food

This hotel is wonderful. It was very clean and the beach was, in my opinion, the best beach on the island. The food options were pretty expensive and there aren't many options nearby, so I would recommend taking a bus or cab into town.

Sheraton Resort Nassau, Bahamas

This was avertised as a non-smoking hotel. the only place I have ever been to with more smoking was Germany. The hallways, pool areas etc was full of smoke. Every 5th person was smoking. Management argued there was no people smoking while their own head of security argued with the management about how bad it was. Meals are usually over 100 dollars with a manditory 15% gratuity. This was in addition to the additional $40 per night hotel misc fee. For this you see the server 1 time and forget getting a refill on water or any other beverage. In addition, the staff was generally rude and gave the illusion you were intruding on their time. I met a lady waiting for guest services for over 30 min. without ever being greeted. Our room came complete with a hole in the bathroom wall, 1 of the 4 railings on the bed was missing. the personal safe was bolted in the restroom where we had to remove our computers and electronics each time we showered so moisture would not enter them, etc. Once you leave the resort the rest of the people are fantastic. we enjoyed the dolphin encounter and the fish fry. Just for the record the worst part of the vacation was the Sheraton. Next time we will stay at another location. Save your money. You will have more comfort in the back of a bus.

Eat at the Fish Fry. It is a group of dining restaurants where you can get local dining at great prices and nice helpful people. You can take the local bus for 1.25 per person and a cap ride is reasonable also.

One of our best trips yet, and we have had a lot over time

Hotel was even better than the web site showed. The staff was professional, and the location could not have been better for us. We went to Paradise Island for a day, and downtown for shopping and dining. All great!!!

Great for a Quiet Vacation

The hotel claims it is a resort but I felt that the amenities were lacking. We had a lot of rain, but instead of relocating the outdoor events which could have been done inside, they just cancelled them instead. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on food. There are no real restaurants or stores nearby so unless you get a cab or catch the bus be sure to bring lots of money to eat. The food was very overpriced and of an average quality.

Take the bus downtown or to the Fish Fry it only costs $1.25 but a taxi will cost between $15-20. Be careful as the bus stops running at sunset.

Not very clean and friendly, but expensive for the quality

The hotel is in a very nice location. Pools and beach are very well taking care of. The hotels halls are smelly and the carpet needs to be changed. My room had some ottomans under the table that were very dirty. The carpet in my room didn't look very clean. All staff at the hotel were not very friendly. They made me feel like if I was asking for a favor every time I asked or requested anything. My experience at the bar was probably the worst. The bar didn't seem to be very busy although I had to wait almost half hour for a drink and at the end was not what I had requested. I had to wait another 10 minutes for the right order. Employees at the kitchen for breakfast had a very bad attitude. One of the Chef's was very upset because her equipment was not working properly and she was given an attitude to all customers. Obviously, it is something normal for them because all supervisors never tried to apologize to customers although they would observe such behaviors from employees.

Great for the price.

Nice Hotel. Room was clean. Staff was nice. Food and restaurants overpriced. Did not eat at the hotel since the food and drinks were overpriced. The beach is nice but the water is not as clear as at the other beaches on the island. The hallways at the hotel are narrow. Internet in the rooms working great but no wi-fi in the room Wi-Fi only in the lobby.
